- Kioti CK2610 HST with FEL, Rotary Cutter, Box Blade and HLA Grapple
I am new to tractors, so I spent weeks learning about them. I took the advice of good people on this forum and started my journey by clarifying my situation and what I want the tractor to do. Then I systematically went over all the relevant specs, created lists and did spreadsheet comparisons of various makes and models.
After that I visited a few dealers. I never actually climbed into the tractors, just looked them over primarily because I am mildly handicapped, walk with a cane and have one very week leg. I figured I would save that difficult task for last.
I naturally wanted to be as low as possible for easy mounting, but subcompacts were out because of low ground clearance. So after all this prep work I was sure the Kioti CK2510 HST was the one I wanted. Yesterday it was finally time to try it out. I was sure that after all the research, the test drive was a mere formality. My climb onto the 2510 was clumsy but doable. I thought 敵reat?
But I never even started the engine. As I was familiarizing myself with the levers and pedals, I knew I was in trouble. The cockpit felt very cramped. The worst thing was the forward/reverse rocker pedal. I could not get my bum knee to bend enough to work the pedal right. I tried a couple foot positions but it was no good. I had no place to comfortably place my foot when not on the rocker and staying on top of the pedal was almost painful.
I was skeptical when the dealer suggested the CK2610 HST. After all, the 2610 specs are not that different from the 2510, except it looked higher. Although I was not sure I could make it into the seat, the task was not really that hard. What a difference in the seat! Plenty of room for my feet and the separate pedals worked great. The cockpit felt perfect. Everything was within easy reach and there was plenty of room for my bum leg. The test drive was fantastic.
Well I placed my order for the CK2610 HST, FEL, Grapple, Cutter, Box Blade, Quick Hitch and necessary hydraulics. Delivery is in about 2 weeks. I can hardly wait!
