There’s my dicey load, I think this was a case of too small of a trailer to balance the load correctly, 5 straps, climb up to around 70mph and she starts to sway pretty bad, scared me and I got her slowed down. Any speed over 47mph and she started swaying.

I have had heavier loads on the trailer, have gone much faster but in this case the trailer didn’t like that load at all. Trailers tires aren’t the best, they need replaced but have never had that much sway before.

Duramax 2500HD hauling a F350 XL, dually, V10, 4x4, 6 speed truck, 11ft flatbed on 20ft deck over trailer.

I got it home, just drove 47mph with hazards on, took about an hour and half to get home lol all because I didn’t have a second driver.
Had almost identical load before. 1999 f250 7.3 diesel 4x4 ext. Can long box on a 20 ft trailer backwards towed by a 2005 2500hd duramax ext. Cab short box.

Couldn't go over 40 mph because of sway. The f250 needed a transmission and only had reverse, and had nothing to load it fowards with. Towed in evening so we turned on the hazards on the f250 also

This makes me recall that years ago I moved a similar shed on a 4 place heavy duty snowmobile trailer. I towed it with a Grand Cherokee though the middle of the next city over. It was no more than a 20 min drive at 35mph max but an odd thing to see in my rear view mirror. Hindsight says it wasn't the brightest thing to do but it got done. I don't recall how or if I strapped it down. :confused3:

Much to my horror, my BIL moved a large over width shed on skids a mile to his house by just pulling it down a populated road. He's that kind of a guy and RIP. Nobody bothered him and everybody waved.

My F350 wouldn’t fit on the trailer forward lol, it was almost 23ft long.

It's probably on here somewhere, just too many pages to scroll through to find out.

I don't know why it makes me think of that scene from Caddy Shack, with Rodney Dangerfield.

Here's one just now. A flatbed carrying heavy concrete pipe. If you look the tie down straps are looped with duck tape!
I don't think that's DOT approved do you?20180725_151507.jpeg20180725_151508.jpeg

I don't know what you mean by "looped with duct tape" but I don't see any problem.

It's hard to see but the only thing I see with duct tape is the excess strap being held, I use a velcro strap to hold the excess on my ratchet straps if I'm going any distance but have been known to use tape or other things to keep from having flapping straps trailing me.

The loose end bundled with duct tape doesn't bother me much, but I would like to see some abrasion guards where the straps go over the concrete corners.
