I am currently using a model 286 (6ft) bushhog brand cutter and it has been excellent. 13 years old and still in great condition. On our new farm we have 3 pastures totaling over 15 acres. They are open, no trees. I would like to upgrade to an 8ft pull behind and will need to add rear remotes. My 5103 is a later model 05, about 42-43 pto hp. Will an 8ft be too much?

To which 8' pull-behind are you thinking?

We picked up the Bush Hog twin spindle SQ84T this spring and have about stopped using the 84 inch bush hog finish mower and 72 heavy duty rotary cutter.

The 3600 Ford with about 40 PTO does an awesome job pulling even in heavy stuff. I love the 9" overhang on the right side and zero on the left side. In tight or strange places I run with the flush side out to be on the safe side. It is limited to bushes 1.5" or less.

Actually plan to put the finish mower behind the 3000 with the 711 one arm FEL so we get some use out of it but it is kind of our tractor show tractor now. :)

No remotes needed in this case if it is of interest.

This would be a good choice for your HP. I was going to suggest the 2308 instead of the 3308. The 3308 is really too big for your HP. So if you like Bush hog, look at the SQ84T for a 7' or the 2308 for an 8' . For used, I think the 2308 replaced the 2008 and the 3308 replaced the 3008
