It runs good now, still on 6v system. My buddy bought it at and auction, didn’t run and hasn’t ran in 8 years, we took it to a local guy who changed all the fluids, points, condenser, regulator, carb kit, battery, plugs and I forget what else.

Rears are filled with calcium though, he’s gonna leave it alone until it becomes a prob.

Other than we can’t figure out where the switch is for the headlights, it should do just fine with what we need. Gross is 62hp, not sure on the PTO but it should even run the bailer as good or better than my JD 4320 (48hp HST).

The light switch should be on the opposite side of th ignition switch. Hidden from sight under the hood side panel. Should be a pull switch.

Saw this thread and thought I was standing in my father in laws back yard. He's got like 4 or 5 of them. Something like a 2000,3600,4600 and 7610. Here's my wife power washing the 7610.

The 10 series Fords have a very good reputation. Mine is 34 years old. I can only wish my Kubota has that type of longterm durability.

my 04 kubota M9000 just rolled over 30k hours during spring planting. its had some repairs like injector pump went out in 2012 but besides general maitenence its been a very used and abused gem.

That is impressive!!!! You are in an elite group of Kubota owners to have clocked that many hours!!! Also clocking 2K hours per year puts you way ahead of all members reading this thread!!!! That's 40 hours per week thru it's lifetime!!!

We used an 861 diesel with a factory ford FEL and front pto pump for 20 plus years loading small rounds for three herds. Dang good tractor that sipped fuel.

My diesel 3910 does a lot of PTO work. It'll burn a tank of fuel moderately quick. My diesel 555, basically same engine, does 90% of it's work at 1200 rpms. It is very fuel efficient.

its not hard to rack up hours when 2 fully fuctioning farms use it.Me and dad generally run it in 2 12 hour shifts 2 or 3 days a week. it gets its 40 hours in 2 days.

This is our 3910, 1988 model. It has the column shift 8x4 transmission. It's just a basic chore tractor. Moving and unloading round bales, and brushhogging is its life. Great tractor.View attachment 557871

I just bought that very tractor to do my hay cutting without the loader...have 2 loaders on the Bransons. Same seat and roll bar. Fenders are the old Ford style round fenders and the exhaust is out the back. Even with a new (10" oval) muffler, a loud little sucker. Nice addition to my corral.

Here's one of my recent acquisitions... 93 Ford 545D Industrial, 4x4, with 8x8 Torque Converter Trans. Very stout unit!

I saw one once, maybe on YT. Ford produced a series of them for some celebration, forget the reason and I think they were the 100 series, and don't remember which. Nothing special other than paint as I recall. Thinking back, it may have been a special edition of the Jubilee (NAA?, 1953). That would probably justify it or it was gold because they made some magic number of tractors and that was to celebrate.

Actually you'd do better (opinion) as things are. Like I needed a tractor to run my drum mower, not too big, but big enough to lift 900+# hanging off the side. I like Fords because they like me and in trying to decide, the 3910 was my selection due to enough hp, right size, and heavy enough. Lo and behold the 3910 popped up on Dallas Craigs list, estate sale, 900 hrs. some cosmetic type repairs and she is good as new. Still has OEM paint and it's good enough to leave as is. The ad said price reduced as he (the liquidator) was trying to get rid of the estate. Tractor was listed at $9k and the listing had been out over 45 days....he was ready to sell.

I went to look at it with my trailer and $$$$. I looked it over, checked wear on the clutch and brake pedals...first clue to usage, and the OEM paint was still on the brakes and a tad worn off the clutch. Hit the switch and after not been run since the previous day...I had to wait for the guy to get there, it lit off in about a second.....plenty of compression...yes, proofmeter was working as it was listed at 899 hrs and when I got on it it said 901.

He walked up to the tractor, I was in the seat, I said $7k will put it on my trailer.....he said $7500 is the least I could take, it went on the trailer. Great buy. Great tractor.

Maybe I'll go out today and shoot some pictures after I get chores done and it's too hot to do much of anything else.

The 8000 is a 68 model with in excess of 20,000 hours, the T6050 only has about 5000;

What's the history of the 8000 over those 20k hours....let's see how Ford reliability stacks up to JD numbers like the 4010s and 20s rack up.

When the 8000 came to the farm in 68 she had a set of 5 bottom plows and was the big tractor, plowed, baled, and chopped. Just general farm work. As the big tractor she did the heaviest tillage replacing the Farmall 560 as the big tractor. As years progressed and more tractors came to the farm a 1066 IH became the big one and the Ford down to second and tillage implements got larger, disks and harrows, unloading wagons got larger and another 1086 came into use, everything kept getting larger and the CIH Magnums started arriving 7110 first, then 7230 and a 7120 over the years, the Ford ended up as a hauling and mowing tractor, running the silage blower. Just general farm work, the last several years she's been just mainly light duty, hauling wagons, raking, tedding. We have several tractors on the farm that are used regularly from an H to Magnums the NH 6050 and CIH Puma 125, IH656's, 560, 400, 1066, 1086, even a couple of green ones now 4450 and a 4020, I believe 13 in all.

Well 1800 vs 1200 rpm and what are the run/type-degree of usage per hour ratios.....engines are rated on x gph per actual hp being used. Same engine, same operational condition/wear, no reason for it to be any different. My experience with Ford engines, and one of the reasons I like Fords is their efficiency. Other reasons are reliability and ease of access for the operator and location of controls.
