Last night in Houghton Michigan, streets washed out when over 6+ inches of rain fell. We had something over 5" in our gauge, but that's all it holds! Heavy rains were reported from Dodgeville to Lake Linden, all near where we live. We posted photos on our dog blog this morning The Trail Mutt Reports

This is near our home. We have wet basement, but that happens all the time in a 120yo house.

WaHoo - - soon time for a bit of road repair. Asphalt will not withstand everything - obviously. Lucky the folks on the uphill side didn't loose a lot of their yards. A new adventure in four wheeling.

Thanks for all the kind comments. We lost every bridge on our system and we're not sure what we'll be able to do at this point. We will reopen this fall, but lost many, many trails. The darn bridges cost about about 20K each.......

Impressive pictures of a lot of damage. It sure must have been something to have that much rain going down the roads all at once!!!!!

Did any homes suffer damage? Looks like it overwhelmed all your drainage systems and rivers, but that whoever planned your city and roads got it right. Or as right as could be expected not knowing something like this was possible.

Many, many homes and business have damage. We have many state, city, private and county bridges out. It was a real gully washer here.

I have been seeing a lot of pictures from friends. I went to tech and my family settled in cliff over 100 years ago, still have family in the area. I wish i could drop everything and go back to being the coordinator for SSAR and working with the RACES group. I feel the devastation in my heart and know that the people there are some of the most resilient and self sufficient in the country.

Just watched some video online, that is so much worse than the Ellicott city flooding we got a couple weeks ago.
