43 hours and no regen yet

tractor had its first regen today at 50 hours. the light was flashing and continued to flash for a few minutes.i finally started the regen manually.both the temp light and the regen light stayed on while it was doing it.lasted about 15 to 20 minutes.would it of started the regen automatically if I would have waited?

Mine has always done it automatically. I think the first light is a warning to give you time to cancel if you're in a barn full of dry hay. After it does that for a bit it should just fire off if its up to temp and you'll see the lights go out when it's done.

yea I didn't give it much time once it started flashing.i was bout to put it back in the shed so I started it manually.next time ill wait a little longer

Mine was right at 51hrs. Lasted about 15-20 minutes.

Mine just happened tonight at 25 hours. I was disappointed that it happened so early but now I'll see how long the next one takes. I think the first 5 hours of it's life was just moving it in and out of the warehouse every day for three months waiting for me to come along.

My first was 32hrs on a 4140 ... pretty uneventful.

I'm not 100% but I think the regen times are tied to how the tractor is run. If it sits and low idles a lot I'd expect more "soot buildup" and shorter times between regen. From what I've heard/read you want to run these motors at a minimum of 1,500 rpm and not be afraid to spool them up. Mine usually sees 3 different rpm levels:

1. 1,500 rpm warming up/idling/cooling down
2. 2,000 rpm moving around and general use
3. 2,500 rpm when running the PTO, using max lift on the loader, or cruising to the next spot quickly

My tractor has ran it's regen cycle at nearly 50 hour increments exactly each time. 50, 100, 150 and now I'm approaching 180.
