It looks like Lowes is phasing out another product, Rustoleum paint in rattle cans. Went to pick up a few cans of gloss white in the 15 oz rattle can and found only Krylon. I have never been a fan of Krylon paints. Looks like my dollars will be spent at Home Depot now. Anyone else seeing this?

Thx for the tip! I’ll be shopping at Lowes for spray paint.

Huh?..............................you mean Home Depot??

I can get Rustolium about anywhere but have a hard time finding Krylon. For a lot of projects I like “The Krylon Touch”

Rustoleum in my experience is the best also. Krayon... I mean Krylon runs!
Our Wal-Mart's sell Rustoleum in every color, type.

I’ve always am partial to Krylon and never had issues with them. Drying times is the biggest selling point.

As with any "rattle can" paints, it's best to go with two thin coats, allowing drying time between coats, rather than trying to apply one heavy coat.

Although I did use both just the other day while using up some old partial cans, and found Krylon to run much faster than Rustoleum if I wasn't careful.

I just happened to buy spray paint last week at Lowes and noticed they did not have many Rustoleom paints but they had plenty of Krylon. Guess I shall see how it goes/runs.:laughing::laughing::laughing:

Lowes is getting more like a dollar store with all the cheap imported stuff they're selling these days.
A few weeks ago I bought a galvanized pipe fitting there that cost me three times what it should have and it had India stamped on one side and Mexico on the other.

I keep a few of each on hand but bought a cheap HVLP about 10 years ago so using very little rattle can since.

Anyone else run into problems with rustoleum rattle cans? Seems like about 25% of the cans I buy don't spray or they stop spraying well before the can is empty. Not even a hiss out of the nozzle, just nothing when I press the spray button.

I have a problem with all kinds of spray cans (WD40,carb cleaner,PB Blaster) running out of propellant before can is empty.

There is better profit in selling short filled rattle cans. Does anyone ever try to return one? Probably not.

I've been having trouble with some cans clogging and it's not the spray nozzle it's the new style of valve their using, some have clogged the first time I used them. With the old style I had some cans for years and they still worked but now I just try to use them up asap.

India on one end, Mexico on the other...how long was the pipe!

Try storing the spray nozzles in a (sealed) container of acetone. That seems to keep the paint in the spray nozzle from drying and causing what you have.

When one of my new Rustoleum cans quits spraying, I can put on a new nozzle from another can, and it still won't spray. All my clogs have been internal.
