So i am purchasing my first compact tractor (GC 1705) in the morning and was wondering where the best place to get attachments are? Whats everyone have for FEL and 3 point attachments?
Is $15,500 a good deal for the 1705? The other places I checked is about 2-3k more.
Also I had a quote from them for the quick attach front end was $1200 installed there. Is that fair? Was $900 for parts and $300 for labor (grinding off old brackets, welding on quick attach onto bucket, touch up paint)
Greetings web,
I don't know who you were replying too, but I'll jump in.
1. You need to specify more. Is the price coming from McFarlane's or someone else? And how is the gc1705 configured?
2. If you are using the 0% financing, then typically there may not be any rebates included. If you are paying cash or one of the several other financing options that are available, then your price will potentially include rebates or may include rebates.
3. Personally, I wouldn't decide on "who" I get a quick attach from till you have talked to Jery at mytractortools.com. They sell 2 types of quick attach (skid steer type and the patented
mytractortools.com). I have the patented product and there was no welding involved and no grinding anything off and it was very easy to self install it. Call him direct. All their products are designed and made in WI.
4. If McFarlanes is giving you the pricing. . . Does it include an engine block heater? How about liquid in the rear tires? Etc. Etc.
5. Back to Pricing, recognize that all pricing promotions go to end of month and dealers aren't told ahead of time what the new month portions are till the new month. So if you got your price the end of May, now that it's June, it might be similar or changed or interest rates on the multiple choices they offer may be different. When I bought from McFarlane's there were 5 or 6 choices not just 1 and it changes pricing if you do 0% compared to all the others. Also, check on the insurance from Agco . . . It's a real deal.
Agco has there own insurance? I was told to just have them put the tractor under the home insurance. I am buying from AC McCartney from Durand IL
As far as options he didnt say anything about block heater or liquid wheels.
I am going with the 0 down 0% apr for 84 months. I think it seemed fair priced. I will talk to mytractortool.com
I will ask him monday about the block heater. I never looked at McFarlanes. Didnt look that far away.Web, what kind of a price did you get from McFarlanes? I drove 125 miles to buy from them at the time.
Yes, Agco has a dynamite insurance coverage for their tractors. If you've been following on TBN, I had written about it many times, as homeowner's insurance on its own is very limited coverage unless you have a rider policy added to it.
So you aren't getting a block heater for Wisconsin winter weather? The cheapest it ever gets is at purchase because they have to setup the tractor anyway. Jmho

My main attachments I want is the pallet forks and bucket. How hard is it to unbolt the bucket and rebolt on the forks visa-versa?Well, to answer your question more precisely, the attachments I have for my LS mt125 (similar SCUT) are a rear 3 pt finish mower, 54" box blade, 5' grader blade, post hole digger (9" auger), and a backhoe. The only FEL attachments are a bolt on tooth bar for the bucket and bolt on forks. I don't have a "quick attach" set up on the FEL because it substantially reduces the lift capacity by a couple hundred pounds or more depending on the type. Future attachment may be a brush hog, but right now don't need one.
Main reason I would rather pay the 300 is that way they are responsible if the mess up welding or grinding. Plus they repaint it.Depends on what you are getting. Its all about perception. If you are comparing apples to apples with everything then it seems good. Each area in the country will have different pricing so its sometimes tough to gauge. Really if you feel like you are getting a good deal then thats all that matters. Some people don't negotiate and some do. For instance I was happy with the purchasing price of my new then 2014 tundra. Once we settled on purchasing price that I liked i had him figure in the taxes so i could see what the actual bill was going to be. I noticed a 399 charge and asked what that was. He said documentation charge. I got up and started walking out of the establishment. He then said your really gonna walk out over 400 dollars and I replied with Absolutely. I ended up not paying the doc fee.
It does seem as if tractor prices are rising as people are paying more for them than what I did a few years ago. You could likely save yourself 300 dollars and install the qa urself.
Do you remember an estimate setup cost of the qa and forks from mytractortools.com?I got my gc1715 from Saul City (mc farlane's) and they are a great dealer for service and pricing. But they also have lots of selection.
But I also went to mytractortools.com for my quick attach and fork set and tractor supply for my 3 pt sprayer unit.

Do you remember an estimate setup cost of the qa and forks from mytractortools.com?
No I havent. They closed at noon saturday and havent gotten to talk to him.Web,
You have me confused. As I stated before, if you get the patented quick attach from mytractortools. COM there is no setup costs. You order the way and it comes with instructions and you undo the "pins" and install it and remount the pins. There is no grinding, no painting. Your initial installation time is going to be less than an hour. If you get the same fork set I did. . . You just drop the bucket and put on the forks. . . No installation involved. If you get the skid steer qa version I'm guessing it's the same story.
About prices. . . Have you called and talked to Jerk yet?
the prices you stated fromyourdealer are higher than I paid. But call jery . Maybe you drive there to see it and pick up instead having it shipped.

I must have misread your comment above. So your attachment didnt need any grinding it just attached to the stock pins on the bucket correct?
Web,

What you described is the dealer is doing grinding and welding and painting on your bucket which means he's modifying your bucket. I would assume that if Massey currently offers a skid steer version quick attach option. . . That it's bucket mounted already or the quick attach has bracketsthat bolts to the bucket and the rest of the quick attach unit bolts l(pins) to the front end loader.
Back in 2015, Mytractortools.com designed their quick attach that is used for the DL95 Massey loader. . . Using my tractor. So I'm very familiar with that version. I've personally never seen mytractortools.com skid steer version (ssqa) but I was told they had developed one of those also.
My point is. . . My bucket is not altered by modification in any way (no drilling no cutting no grinding) except a couple small brackets were bolted to the existing pin attachment points.
