I don't have a pic of the useless cupholder, and I know that cup holders on tractors are critical items so I made this a priority. Played around with some ideas and couldn't flush out a design till recently. I took a five inch peice of 4"x4"x1/4" angle iron, two pieces of 7-1/2" long 1/2" by 5" flatbar. The prices of fb, one has 1/2" holes at 3-1/2 inches centered, the other has 1/2" x 13 threaded holes at the same dimensions. Then I used a six inch peice of schedule 40 4" pipe. Welded it all together (left a gap on the pipe to the angle iron for drainage), and painted it black. Installed it tonight, might make entrance and egress a bit more difficult but will be worth it.

One of the first topics I followed when I joined TBN (back in 2001?) was the development of the "Chalkley Cup". Guys figuring out how to attach a cup to their tractor by gluing high strength magnets into the bottom of their favorite plastic mug. (Hard disk drive magnets were a favorite.)

I got this one from REI, but they're on Amazon too. Fits multiple size bases and odd-shaped cups (high tapers), and the rubber band has multiple adjustment holes for secure tension. Haven't lost a cup yet!

After rereading his post again, is he really talking about a cup holder. :) With steel that thick it will hold one heck of a cup.

Wow. I have never needed a cup holder that badly. Very nice job though.

I have found I use cup holder on my tractor with cab a good bit. My open station tractors do not have one but would be nice. Not nice enough to do all that, but nice. I like placing frozen bottle of water and sipping it as it melts.

I have some insulated beverage containers I use. I think frozen water bottles would work great. I need to find some double stick Velcro or another anti-rattle type substance to stick to he inside.

I have projects where I use the tractor bucket to carry tools and a workplace so having hydration is handy. Having your glass vibrate off the hood cause there is no place to put it not so much.

Good to know that when you catch your cup holder on a massive tree your going to tear your fender off before you damage your beverage or cup holder... :p
