Cobbler #10 in the oven. Had to call over my aunt to pick berries before they fall off. She picked a gallon in a half hour in 10 square feet. Expecting rains tomorrow!
Bird, the link you provided with the nutritional information looks like it is for the whole cherry not just the juice. The tart cherry juice does contain melatonin which helps sleep. Sound like the perfect drink before that afternoon nap.

Picked another 1.5 quarts of berries out the back door at work (after work). Plenty more to pick but I only took the one container out there not expecting to find more ripe ones just yet. Found a whole nuther patch. Don, I know what you mean about a great 10 feet square. A gallon in a half hour is some heavy laden bushes. I haven't found that yet this year.

Anyway got home after picking, and my daughters wanted to go pick on our place. We got another 2 quarts, but our dewberry patches just aren't that good.

Don, are there any public areas around here with berries you might not be picking?

63 right now...warmest I've seen so far this year. High in the mid-70's and rain. We also have a wind advisory, so might see some branches down by Saturday morning

Good morning all, warm here too. High in upper 80's and dry until Saturday night when the rains hopefully come back.
Up early, need to stay inside this morning until phone repair folks come; I asked a powerwasher helper yesterday to crawl under my crawl space and put in a new remote humidity sensor in my
mold remediated crawl space, and that worked fine. What didn't work fine was his snagging the phone lines to the house and when I investigated why "no line" on the phone, there were the lines on the ground. I simply have no idea of the color coding or I'd reconnect them. Looks like five or six wire cable; just a hard line phone, becoming a dinosaur still having one but I prefer it for the fire alarm system.

Yesterday I did almost all my "crummy" jobs, the ones I put off, like painting porch decks. So today is my reward and it's time to take the Super A into the fields and see
if I can get the cultivators adjusted now that I can see where the corn is. My challenge is when the row sort of meanders and the tractor for sure will want to track in the ruts.
So at least in the beginning I'm going to set them wider than normal to make sure I don't rip up what corn I have left.

Actually I do have some weedeating to do today around the garden; weed control inside the electric fenced areas. Would be a lot simpler spraying roundup but I just can't bear
to use that or any weedkiller so close to food I'm going to eat.

would one of you Texans please take another picture of a dewberry bush full of berries. Need to see what I'm missing.
First strawberry yesterday though, that was fun.

A few drops of rain in the air, though hopefully it won't amount to much, then I can get on with filling in the mortar I raked out yesterday. I'm working up a scaffold tower and although it's only an extra 8' above ground level, it's surprising how much easier it is for the wind to suck away the heat up there. The bonus is that a cool wind gives plenty of exercise - climbing down for a warming cup of tea, back up again and then before too long, it's back down again to take a leak. While I'm down I think I may as well have a cup of coffee, which guarantees the cycle continues ...

Cajun, there are plenty of web sites in this country that still sell horse hair for anyone wanting to use traditional plaster.

Mike Wye has a great website for traditional building materials, they even sell goat and cattle hair. Plastering Hair | Horse Hair | Goat Hair Looks like Mike will even source human hair for special orders (fourth small pic on website ).

32 and going to a high of52F. Wind E 8 mph. Periods of rain. YUK!

I got stuff that needs to get done and all it want to do is rain. The really good thing is that after today the longer range guess has it sunny and into the 60s for the next 5 days.

The below freezing over nite temps are still with us, tho.

Have a safe Friday all

68 now, got to about 87 yesterday with more humid air. About the same today. Showers tonight and tomorrow for car show time. As usual it went from too cool to nearly too hot at once.

Slept better but my sleep pattern is still screwed up some. I feel ok otherwise now.

Ellen worked from here yesterday and made beer bread and spaghetti for dinner. Nice having someone cooking in the house besides me.

Got my tractor home Tuesday after the steering rebuild, wow what a difference in how well it drives.

Gracie, Ellen’s 65 lb bulldog and Buddy, my 14 lb cat, have become quite good friends. It’s funny to watch the rituals they observe to demonstrate they mean no harm to each other.

Prayers for all of us, I’m certainly needy of them.
Have a good day everyone.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 62° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 70° with more rain and wind warnings. Rain most of the day yesterday. So went shopping at Menards and got materials for a couple of projects. One is pulling up some paver bricks and leveling them up with rest of the area. They have been down for 20 years. No problems with level. But this winter did something to cause a couple of spots to have puddles of water when it rains. Got 3 areas to do. Lawn is very green and growing. Not sure I will get to cutting lawn today.

David S, hope you are safe from the volcano eruption.

Prayers for those in need.

Good Morning All.
