Good morning!!!!

We went to the Mt. Hermon Plow Days yesterday, men and women, draft animals and antique farm equipment from as far as Ohio. It was cold and windy, but Ellen’s dad had a bunch of antiques entered and the animals to pull them. Cool stuff, great live music, everything from plows to liquor stills. Met more of Ellen’s family, good solid country folk, even the ones that are nurses and such and living in the city. Large family.

Baby Gloria is a cutie.

My favorite British sports cars are the XKE, I almost bought a 72 V12, and the Austin Healy 3000 Sprint. I drove one of them when I lived in Vallejo, loved it!

Back in the house. Sharpened chain saw chains. Put one back on pole saw. Tried it out. Next thing I know tree trimming project is completed. Well not quite. Need to move all the limbs to pile that needs chipping.
Got heating pad on back.

I took my new subaru to AR and back last weekend. It got up to 33 mpg.

On my first son, i think i cut the cord. On the 2nd, i cut and tied it.

Church dinner went well. Men did all the cooking, setting up, clean up, and the Ladies got to eat first. One of the ladies suggested we do this every month, lol.

I went over to Ellen’s this morning to find out why her riding mower wouldn’t start, it seems it runs much better with the gas turned on! Imagine that.:D I felt so stupid I went ahead and mowed her yard. Then we unloaded a trailer load of firewood and stacked it. Came home and ate some red beans and rice, now I’m going start my own chores.

My first showroom new car was a 1962 Austin Healy Sprite; cost $2,200 new. I would have loved to have that Austin Healy 3000 that was sitting on the showroom floor, but at $4,000 it was way out of my price range.

Good morning to all! Wind, wind, and more wind! 50-60 mph gusts, started last night, gonna be all day. I am so sick of the wind. I just saw Arizona blow by...dirt blowing everywhere.

Had a great nights sleep but woke up this morning and could barely bend the knee. All swollen and now changing colors like a chameleon. Sometimes I wonder if "staying off" it, is in fact the better thing... Seemed that when I was pushing it, had better range of motion. Day one after surgery, thought 'this is great' , 'I'm fixed'! Now 3 days later, not thinking it is going to be as easy. I think I am just getting impatient....too many things to do..

Drew, good luck w/ the vehicle search / sale. I'm not envious. I hate dealing with the BS at car dealers.

Jay, love hearing you say 'out on a dog walk'... enjoy your new buddy.

Andrew, hope Gloria is doing good and gets through her umbilical escapade w/o any problems.

Prayers sent for all those in need. Have a relaxing, peaceful Sunday.

Prayers sent, Never had any thing like that so I don't know but sure pray it is much better soon. Ed

My oldest brother had an old Sprite and Bird, I don't think you, I or he could currently fit in one of those cars. Or if we got in,
we'd need a winch to get out. Very small cars, whiny transmissions but go carts to drive. Rough riding much?

Yeah, back then I was 75-80 lbs. lighter than I am now, and much more agile. I don't recall any transmission whine. I just got tired of it getting banged up, even when parked when I was at work. I made a couple of trips down to the Texas/Mexico border, and I made one non-stop trip from Dallas to Atlanta, GA. It wasn't bad then, but no way I'd want to do that now.

Passed my Ham Tech 35/35. Guess I can relax now. Both husband and wife Cottage tenants also passed.

We were allowed to take the General exam, no additional cost - guessed 19 of 35 - pretty much just luck.

Good evening all. 36F for the start, overcast and light south wind. Wind did pick up a little few peaks of sunshine early but back to solid overcast. High temp was 52F. Went to Chapel this morning, then did DASH deliveries. Then on to Couples golf that did not go well. Because playing conditions were poor, our scheduled playing partners did not show. We were reassigned, nice couple, but golf cart batteries started acting up :(. Tried a replacement cart but no side curtains so we just went home , not much fun.

Thanks, haven't heard that in ages. Had to go into the living room to give it a blast in stereo.

In 6-9 months there will be a 25% chance Andrew discover's something about little Gloria that is a connected song.
If that sounds cryptic, RNG will easily guess it - he knows all about vans ...

Baby Gloria is a cutie. Mama must be a trooper, my wife demanded the anesthesia.

Here's the Gloria song I like,
U2 - Gloria (1981) - YouTube

No church today. We were getting ready when Jana noticed the stub of the umbilical cord had fallen off. She called her obgyn, who said to put betadine (iodine solution) on the wound. Took a while to find that in the mess of a medicine cabinet, and then late to go to church.

I cut the cord too long when Gloria was born. Our pediatrician had just left for a Thai vacation, leaving the retired head of the delivery department at the hospital to substitute. She compensating for my mistake by clamping and cutting the cord far to short. I had gone to get something from the car while she did this, and had just assumed that this little thing wouldn't be messed up.

Sunday at the Masters...does not get much better for a golf fan...!

It was a good one. I watched most of Saturday's show and only the last hour of Sunday's. That guy can putt.

I didn’t own it, it belonged to a friend who’s dad owned a car dealership.

Always drooled over the XKE, but never had one. I did have a couple of MGBs. The last one a 77 that I got in 79 I think. Love/Hate relationship. Loved it when running well and a number of great road trips. Hated it breaking down, like in NYC on a return trip from Maine to NJ and again when moving from VA to GA. That time, wife toured me behind our Ford van from No Carolina to Ga. had that car with 3 marriages and the single times in between. If that car could have written a book....
really wanted a MB 500sl while in Germany, but didn’t happen. Probably one car I really enjoyed driving was the 96 MB 500s, definitely not a sports car, but loved it especially on the freeway.

Good morning all. I'm having a leisurely breakfast after getting ready to go out, then when I opened the door I found a thick mist had come from nowhere and closed out the fields. It should clear once the sun climbs a little higher.

Grand kids coming today, so I don't expect to get anything done except have a little fun. It was an unexpected benefit of semi-retirement to find I now get to take some of the school holidays too.

Storming real good..........4 inches of rain in the last day.....wind blowing.....they say we've had some 50 to 60 mile an hour gusts........very grey outside........dogs don't even want to go out.

Sensible dogs !

David/Sodamo I have a Grundig S350DL receiver that I will set up if I know you are going to be "out there".
I'll need to know what to tune to. No licenses, so I can't talk but I can post and let you know I heard you.
I'll have to start stringing the short wire antenna near a window. Actually, this is directional, so I should set up the antenna near a window
on the West side of the house? Or just up high? Complete newbie with this, though I have played with it.
Sold a lot of s/w receivers when I owned my Radio Shack. Those smaller Grundig receivers with digital tuning sold well, never sure how well they worked.
Sensitivity and discrimination are one thing, a big antenna is another. Gain, everyone is looking for gain...
