Worked on the water system today. We have a rain water catchment system for those needing a memory jog . We catch the rain from the main house and garage roofs which is filtered into 4 poly tanks, 4K gallons each. Then filtered thru a 20-5 micron sediment filter, 5 micron charcoal filter, 1 micron sediment filter, UV light and into the house. So today I purged the system from the pump, disinfected the filter system and replaced the filters. Disinfected by running bleach thru the system via the empty filter bodies. That means opening all valves until I could smell the chlorine, close them and then return to each to run until back to running non treated water. That was 4 toilets to flush, 10 sinks with both hot and cold, 4 showers, 2 tubs. I didn’t even attempt the dish washer or clothes washer or outside spigots. Too many valves
Thought I had another test kit around, but not finding it.

Actually, I'm not a big fan of Jack Daniels. I heard their higher ended stuff is really good. I like a good rum....or a Shiner Bock, or most anything from Stephen's Point Brewery.

Frank Sinatra made it popular in his time, it being his beverage of choice. I have to cut it with just a splash of water when I drink it neat, but Gentleman Jack is my go to served neat. If you get a chance, give it a try, as it's smoother so the flavors are more pronounced.:licking:

Good Evening!!! Very early start to attend the April Fool's party down south. Turns out I was early, not at the right place, and the appetizer I brought never made it to the party but won't go to waste. :confused2: But the weather was very nice, about fifty friends and family were at the event, which was held at the home of the owner that gave the old motorcycle I've been working on to the man I purchased it from. Hope that makes sense. Anyway, I got to meet people that had been watching and working with John (the man I purchased from) as he worked on the bike for more than twenty years, and all were delighted to see it all back together again. Not just the men, but wives and even daughters that remembered the bike from their childhood. Jack, the first owner (but not really as he bought it off a used car lot sometime in the '70s) even had some photos of it back when he was still riding it around. I also got to spend some time with a local mechanic that had done service work on it as well. Plus stuff myself with all manner of BBQ, exotic salads, and tasty pastry treats. Definitely won't be losing any weight over this adventure. The evening ended a bit early for me a bit after they lit the bonfire, which towered some thirty feet into the sky. Long drive home, the first part with no tail lights on the trailer, but a quick stop in a well lit gas station parking lot was enough to get them going again.

I drink Jack now and then...and try a pickle back sometime...surprising good:

Although the recipe calls out Irish whiskey, it's pretty good with Jack...

Christos voskrese! Happy Easter to everyone observing it today!

Heading to church in a bit, then for the feast at the inlaws, then thankfully one of those indoor playground places is open, so we're meeting one of my wife's friends there. Her kids will hopefully happilly play with ours while we sip coffee. Torrential downpours here outside.

Happy Easter!

Thanks for the wishes and prayers for my tooth. Had a better day yesterday. No Jack or Crown Royal, but plenty of ibuprofen and penicillin.

Great news on your dogs, JB.

RNG, what a beautiful job you've done on that bike.

Ed, I need to get a fill up at your 39 cents station...sounds like old times like when I was a youngster...29 cents is the cheapest I remember.

David, quite a water system you have. Does the chlorine hurt your septic system?

Had 2 sons and one DIL over last night for lasagna and corn hole. Great time. DIL and I were a team vs. my two sons. We won, so teasing them "old man and girl won" was good fun. They tackled me to retaliate.

Tastes do change over the years, but not all our tastes. Many years ago when we bought a new house that had a wet bar, I stocked that bar with a wide variety of things, including a bottle of Jack Daniels. That bottle set there for years, unopened, before I finally found someone to carry it off. I never did acquire a taste for bourbon; preferred scotch. And now . . . I can't remember the last time I bought any scotch. Instead, I keep a bottle of Crown Royal on hand and like a bit of that in a Coke now and then. And I have some Shiner Bock and Blonde in the shop refrigerator. I've even drank one of them so far this year.
