Any of you guys ever watch flat track motorcycle racing? It is supposed to be televised on NBCsn sports network.
A fairly old sport that seems to be on the upswing again, with most of the manufacturers opting in.

The big boys will be twin cylinders with Harleys, Indians, Kawasaki, Ducati, Yamaha, and probably others coming online. They will also have the super competitive single cylinders with most engines being a homologated 450cc liquid cooled engines. Almost all the Japanese mfgs , KTM, Husqvarna will compete.

Believe it or not, there are a couple of gals that are not only competitive in the singles, but one of them won something like 5 races last year.

First race is Mar 15. TT race (left and right turns with jump) at Daytona.
I can't wait to watch.

A friend of mine and I are trying to plan to attend the Texas Motor Speedway on April 28th IIRC. They will race on a half mile track.

My "local" dealer is 25 min away. This dealer over an hr from home, but 5 miles from work. They have quick lane for oil changes.
Last night, When i told the local dealer i had better offers ( after they had raised their price), sales mgr asked where I'd get it serviced (implied if i bought elsewhere). I told him In all the yrs driving, I had never gone back to a dealer for service. That shut him up.
He did mention subaru will replace failing parts on warrenty, before they fail. Makes me wonder how they know they are failing..
They also cover wear parts in first yr, wiper blades, brake pads. Cant imagine needing new in a yr though.

I usually tell this to snarky salesmen:

"You don't worry about the mules, you just load the wagon."

Never watched the American Flat track racing. Many years ago we had a European type track in Detroit area.

Don, I will have to ask him if it has SST pot or not.

Don't bother I found it online it does not have a SS pot and at least one buyer has remorse for not buying an INSTANT POT.
He also thought he saved money by buying it at Costco but we all bought our Instant Pots for less than he paid for the clone.

Costco Pressure Cooker review:

Does OK job
The pot itself functions well. However there is no manual settings so difficult to follow recipes on Pinterest. The manual and recipe book are pretty much worthless. Basically best not to waste your time and just go online, then you get to watch their obnoxious video. Not sure the savings over the Instapot was worth it!!!

✘ No, I do not recommend this product.

Usta go to the San Jose Mile back in the '80s. Now that was a spectacle! Haven't been since they tore the stadium down and sold off the land for condos.

Short track racing is pretty popular at several county fairgrounds up here, though. They use speedway bikes like Jawas with alcohol for fuel. Kids down to five or six years old race smaller versions. It's a real hoot!

Update:
Bought one today.

$600 less than my local dealer who raised the price on me.
Only difference, this doesnt have the $172 cover in the back, so $428 less..

This dealer is 5 miles from the office. One of the best and easiest car buying experiences ever.

I'll pick it up sunday. They had to clean it.

Flat tracking was popular in Delaware until about 30 years ago, a lot of fun to watch.

Wind has dropped off, so has the temp, 34 already. Upper 20s tonight.
All clubs breakfast in the morning, where members from area car clubs have breakfast and exchange schedules and flyers. Firehouse in Millsboro, DE puts out a nice spread for the $10 charge.

BEF- Congratulations on your new Forester. I hope you many uneventful and boring miles together.

We went through the "tutorial" and picked ours up this PM. We ran through a snow squall on the way home that covered the highway with ~1" and it handled as expected. I like those steering activated headlights and fog lamps. Heavy fog, rain, and snow can throw off the gizmo sensors, but it did not happen with what we experienced. Wifey drove which did not exactly help my BP.

Before we left we had some visitors. Mixed gender(?) a couple of small beards, lots of buttons, lots of jostling at the feeders.

We hated to scared them. They may fly @ 45mph, but they can not run @ 35mph in this snow. Lot's of bottom bumping taking off and/or running. It always amazes me how these big birds can roost on branches thinner than a finger.

The best answer to the auto dealer who asked where you are going to get it serviced is
to say anywhere I want. And it's true, that comment should have been stricken out of the vocab long ago but I guess old habits die hard.
Going to bed early after a nice meal at my brother's in Markham VA. Garden club meeting took two hours instead of one, so I got a late start.
However a few women did ask for my address and phone number to come help with the garden. Hmmmm.

This whole area was a real mess from the wind. Trees done everywhere.
Gosh driving on Route 66 heading West in VA, thankfully for only a brief period, is a trip and a half. Jammed highway with manic crazy people tailgating you and lane weaving
like mad. Very bad tailgating here. I just put my four way flashers on and that usually works and if it doesn't, I'll slow down a little and they for sure will get around me. The three or four lane highway is full, there's no place to go, so why climb up on someone's bumper? I used the adaptive cruise in heavy traffic today and that worked very well though I don't like its activating the brake lights so much when slowing down automatically. I always thought the person who used their brakes the least was usually a better driver, anticipating traffic flow. I can anticipate better than the machine can because I can see much further ahead.

going to read my book and bake under my portable electric blanket. Have heat, will travel...

66 is a nightmare, everyday, all day. I travel it from the Beltway to Front Royal, it gets a little better in the mountains past Gainesville.

Good evening all. 52F this morning, partly cloudy, light wind. Wind was up and down today as well as gusty, cloud cover was up and down too with a lot high thin stuff, high temp was 75F. bike ride this morning, wind was a bear. Picked up the volagi this afternoon, taking the 10-speed to STL, doubtful anyone would take it. Will be there 1 week to drive brother around while he is recovering from surgery. Meant to have TBN app installed on phone, have yet to decide on which one.

Good morning (evening) to all! Congrats to Jay and BEF on the new vehicles:drink: Be safe and enjoy! Always nice to get a new car  (not so much fun negotiating w/ the dealers)

Getting teased w/ the weather here, 68* today, 70* tomorrow, dropping into the low 40's Sunday w/ a chance of snow very early am. Hopefully you guys can get some better weather... Really hammering some.

Picked up all the framing lumber for my project today, over 5000 lbs of wood. Knee wouldn't hold up after loading it all on the trailer. Have to unload it tomorrow morning, then go back for 100 sheets of ply. Should be all the lumber needed for the shell.

Had a follow- up w/ doc at occ. med. this afternoon... First words out of his mouth were: " guess your going to ortho". Does a little poking and prodding, says he is writing the referral to ortho, referral for PT, and releasing me to light duty... Wait a minute.. What if ortho says something different? They are the specialist right? Seems like they want to get out of paying work comp retroactively for my first 2 weeks out. Would have happened next week. I hate how the "system" works these days! Anyway, he wants me to keep the knee "active", I can sure do that working on my project, I was going to delay the start, but not now.

Drew, make sure you stop in Philly and get a cheesesteak and a soft pretzel !, enjoy the time w/ family.

RNG, patience w/ your mechanic, remember "good things come to those who wait".... Hopefully the wait won't be too much longer.

Ed and Eddie... Many strong prayers sent out your way, hang in there.

Prayers out for those needing them.

Good morning all, 28 going to 47 with a 30% chance of snow this morning then sunny. Rain snow this weekend. Wife got prednisone and an antibiotic for her lips. Dr said it was likely a bac infection. Mom was a little better yesterday too. Thanks so much for the prayers. Enjoy the new wheels and everyone have a great day. Ed

LS, you’ve described how worker’s compensation has worked for 45 years that I know of. If you are observed by the wrong people working on your project you will lose any shot at collecting from work for your injury, regardless of circumstances. My wife was regional medical supervisor for two large corporations and I can tell you you’d better walk softly on this.
