Did you and buckeye get a new Forester on the same day?
Visiting another dealer today. Wrote long post about it last night, didnt post for some reason.
Short version story, first dealers price went up. I told him i had better deals,
After getting home, got an even better deal. Going at lunch to see, it's near work.
Ive gone from dealers that want me to come in to get a price, to one that texted me prices late at night.

".... gone from dealers that want me to come in to get a price, to one that texted me prices late at night."- BEF

Wifey/we did the same thing. No dealership is very close to us; traveling to any of them is a traffic PITA.

I just finished watching our pair of resident ravens enjoying our latest compost offering to the garden. They really like the fruit stuff. Definitely a bonded pair.

Wife just went to the dr, her tummy is upset and her lips are burning and have a purpleish tint to them. Says she cant stand it anymore and headed for Urgent Care.

Years ago I had an old guy that offered me the deal of a life time, NOT. If I married his daughter or 11 year old grand daughter he would give me his still and teach me to run it. He did make the best Rye Whiskey I ever drank. I passed on the offer.

Have a good afternoon. Ed

All mention of any storm Sunday and Monday has been removed from the forecast. Looks like it’s going even farther south.

Hope your mother and wife are better in no time, Ed. Man, when it rains, it pours!:(

When my brother bought his GMC truck a few years ago, he found what he wanted on dealer lot, got the VIN and picture of window sticker. He sent it to 5 local dealers for a bid on that exact VIN, one of them came in $4000 lower than dealer that had it, they did a dealer swap, brother got a great price.

I don't know. The 2 wheeled ones at our place are hand me downs.

The nearest dealer for rollators, and a lot of other equipment, told me they would only sell one to me with a doctor's prescription. Does that mean Medicare would pay for it? I'm guessing that's the case. But I had no problem buying one outright on the Internet with no prescription and no questions . . . except a credit card number.

Update:
Bought one today.

$600 less than my local dealer who raised the price on me.
Only difference, this doesnt have the $172 cover in the back, so $428 less..

This dealer is 5 miles from the office. One of the best and easiest car buying experiences ever.

I'll pick it up sunday. They had to clean it.

I can honestly say I was never a runner, but I know people who were crazy enough to do it....the LEO's around here NEVER stopped chasing motorcycles.

Kyle, I said it was against departmental rules; I didn't say it wasn't done. I guess I can tell on myself, since all the other participants are dead now. I had just about 3 years on the department, when one slow night about 2 a.m., I was working with an older partner, I was driving, almost no traffic at the time when we met a motorcycle that was obviously speeding. I made a quick U-turn and turned on the red lights, and instead of stopping, that motorcycle sped up and turned. Now I would not deliberately violate a departmental rule, but I actually just did not think of it, and my senior partner didn't say a thing about it. He sat over there, calmly talking on the radio telling everything we did and each location. We ran 10 stop signs, 5 red lights, went up a one way street the wrong way for about 6 blocks, he went into a small shopping area, jumped the curb and went down the sidewalk, back onto the street, and eventually, without knowing the area well enough, went down a street that was being redone. The pavement was torn out curb to curb and for a block or two we zigzagged around barriers. And when he came to where all the pavement was torn out, he went to jump the curb, misjudged his angle, and fell. He jumped up to run, and I bailed out after him. He ran a short distance, stopped, and turned. I couldn't tell you to now whether he was stopping to surrender or to fight. But with both of us running, when he turned, I ran into him, and we both fell with me on top of him. On the way to jail, he thanked us for not killing him. He said he had won a New Mexico state championship on a motorcycle and always thought a motorcycle could get away from a car, and since he thought we were stopping him for illegal gambling, he decided to try it.

Back then, we had 3 speed manual transmissions, no power steering, no power brakes, etc. Our sergeant and lieutenant (and some other officers) complimented me on my driving and my partner on his cool handling of the radio transmissions, but of course could not commend us in writing because we had violated a departmental rule by chasing that motorcycle.

Now to make a short story a long one . . . That motorcycle rider was working at a used car lot, living up above the car lot office, and hustling pool on the side. But a few years later, I was a detective sergeant in the burglary and theft section when that guy was brought as one of a gang of burglars. He was wearing a very expensive suit that evening, he was living in a very expensive apartment, had a new Cadillac and a new Lincoln. He had been quite successful in his chosen profession. I don't recall how much time he spent in jail, but I later heard that he and another fellow were both found dead with a deck of cards scattered on the floor in anther city. Officially, it was ruled that they shot each other in a dispute over a card game. We had an informant who told us who killed both of them, but we had no evidence and no way to validate what that informant said.

Maybe you could ask around at the rest home?

My brother was just telling me his step daughter bought him something from Costco that is like InstaPot but can handle 3 mason jars at a time for preservation. He loves it.

I was in three rest homes last summer and saw none of the UpWalkers. Lots of 2 wheel wrist walkers with tennis balls, the kind Medicare gives free. If my Mom still does not want to spend the money, I'm pretty sure I can get the Hip Doctor to prescribe it. But then where to fill the prescription, or will Medicare reimburse?

I hope his costco pressure cooker has has a stainless steel pot the food goes in and can also slow cook and saute'.

Buckeye, good looking car, are you going to get tint on the front windows to match the tint of the rear windows?

Also side moulding and hard mud flaps.

No added tint, got the factory tint with sunroof. Since we are coming down sunday am to take boys to airport, i said I'd pick it up then, instead of another trip tonight or tomorrow. They are closed sunday, but will have it parked behind the repair area. Playing phone tag with ins co.

Thanks for sharing. Please feel free to post more cop stories. I love to hear them.

Don, I will have to ask him if it has SST pot or not.

Nice ride BEF.
