I was "non gifted" "Special Tracked" throughout my early grade school years. In hindsight this was a true life learning lesson in empathy.

That's what the educators tried to teach me and failed. I still sometimes "diagram" my crazy/run on posts. I also learned through life experiences to "successfully" keep any report to 1 page.

Friendly Politics is anything but. Doesn't seem to bring the best out in people that's for sure.
If personal attacks were disallowed, immediately..., you Kyle wouldn't be called stupid names by folks likely at night
under the influence of one too many beers. And I'm not referring to RS either, it's a mosh pit in there.

Toppop wouldn't call me a liberal greenie weenie to my face because he's my friend and doesn't want to insult me.
But all's fair in FP, and the reason some can't get in to try it is you have to be "approved" and confirm I guess you read the rules.
Which sadly few pay attention to.
Many who are calm and helpful in regular threads say surprisingly offensive things in FP, far beyond just expressing opinions.

My suggestion is that you two agree to lower the rhetoric, you're smart guys and nice too. Well maybe not RS...his fish have been telling me he needs to feed them more...

I won't go back in there because every discussion became a Pong game of allegedly conservative vs liberal and everyone was trying to score discussion points in as insulting a manner as possible. After putting two people on ignore, I finally left for good.

Kyle I'm sorry you got offended in there but it doesn't surprise me. That thread is like the Olympics of Offensiveness.

I'm sorry I even brought it up. I did give it a bit of forethought. It's just that the lack of civility has taken over and there are a handful that take it to extremes. There are many courses in life that I am fairly moderate on. Not to be discussed here. I would like to think that ALL of us here could sit around a table and have a great time whether with tea or strong drink or a chocolate malt.

At church today, "unclean spirits" were talked about and the pastor says do not confuse that with cheap vodka or moonshine.

Having read the posts of others less fortunate than I; I do consider my "block" as good fortune.

I have been in a couple of "food fights" at RCG that are now embarrassing. I never delete my posts even the embarrassing ones. They are just a snapshot of where I "was at" at the time.

^^^^^^^^ I would have similar hopes. I learn more from listening to others (especially those from different belief systems) than I do from hearing myself "talk."

Cholesterol consumption causes problems in excess but strangely higher cholesterol in the consumer generally isn稚 one of them according to several studies.

Check those studies carefully and exactly what they are being compared to and any bias by the studies backers. There was a study recently at Texas A&M on Beef and the Beef industry used parts of it for advertisement and are now being sued because of the way they twisted the data to make it sound like beef was good for your cholesterol.

Did you know there it was over 50 years and over 7000 studies and that showed the hazards of smoking before the US Surgeon General said it was not healthy.

If you know of anyone that has died during bypass surgery and they were not informed that a plant based diet can stop or reverse heart disease a group that announced itself at the seminar is ready to file a lawsuit on the widows behalf. Overwhelming data and studies are out there. My cardiologist is Plant Based. He is not like a Doctor that tells you you should quite smoking and then like an idiot goes on a smoke break. I liked this slide at the seminar.

I guess there is no "Friendly Economics" subsection of the forum? I lost interest in US politics when the Ron Paul 2012 campaign hit a brick wall. Slovak politics was at first interesting, given all the different parties here, and the smaller country means my wife at least personally knows some of them, but a lot of time is wasted with politics, which becomes a lot of a question of which personalities you like, you tend to fight for them, but next to none of them have a correct legal / economic perspective. And in the background my wife is on the phone in a heated discussion with one of our friends who is an editor on a news portal here about politics. :-D

My info was from one of the diabetes magazines, I use to subscribe to about 4. Like I said, not recent. I do know that fat and starch cause more glycemic
Issues than sugar. Seems counter intuitive.

My cholesterol is not bad enough for doctors to start throwing meds at me. My knowledge base came from my auto-immune disease and the subsequent insulin dependent diabetes and all my searches for "additional" information related to my "situation."

I am still in denial about how my diet and lifestyle choices affect my ongoing auto-immune issues.
