Nice! Thanks for the link.

Wonder how much that setup cost, though? Yikes!

I don't know about the cost of the track kit for that little green Power Trac but a couple years ago the same setup - probably different company - for a TJ Jeep cost close to $10,000.

Wonder how much cleaning and lubing he had to do after that little job.

This type of "pyramid track" system is not really that new. The custom aftermarket 4WD dealer in Anchorage had one and put it on his Jeep. Of course, every time he used the Jeep - it had to be trailered to the off-road location and back. This was, as I recollect, around 1972 or 1973. Every time the Jeep went off road - pressure wash the entire "system" and grease up everything when it got home.

This "system" proved out our basic statement in the local 4WD club - "It will take you to a place where NOBODY can ever come to help you".

It's not a power trac, its an Avant.

I'd rent a trackhoe before subjecting that little machine to the punishment.

Moss - I know, in the day, 1972 - the "pyramid track system" on the Jeep was a quite delicate operation. It could easily be "hurt" when operating in the mud and peat bogs of outback AK. Actually - the owner of the "system", at that time, quit bringing it on our Jeep runs because he had to spend so much time doing repairs in the field. Honestly, unless its something like you see now-a-days on the big 500hp JD tractors or the like - I think most of these after market pyramid track systems do their best in snow. Soft surface, max & easy slipping, little to no binding..........

Yeah, I've seen them used in snow, in video only. Never seen them in person. Mat tracks, or something like that, was the brand I was thinking of, I think.
