Back to the topic at hand, just purchased a S&W 65-2 revolver. Nice shooter.
I have a 64 that looks like that down to the grips. I did a double take when I saw it.

Nice. I had a 686 for a while, also SS; until somebody offered me a too good price for it. I still kick myself for selling it.

Maybe... But you will certainly never understand what Liberty is. And it's not just being able to own a gun. Much, much more than that.
But in my experience, the TN background check at purchase is super-quick. Like minutes. I think it is just a simple match with the TBI to verify there's no outstanding warrants or open restraining orders.

This was an interesting discussion, I can even understand why American like a gun as a nice piece of engineering (I prefer tractor and motorcycle but this is personnal). .. But you should not go on the path of comparing liberty! We are probably closer that you think and liberty is often limited by others that control our environment without we realize it!

This morning I was watching the local news and they mentioned the school shooting in Florida. There was an armed Deputy on duty at the school. He waited four minutes before entering the building. That made my heart skip a beat.
Just arming someone isn't enough. You must arm the right person. In this case that didn't happen..... Makes me hurt inside....

It gets even worse. Tonight we learn that 3 more Broward county deputies arrived and waited outside with the first one. They waited until another agency the Coral Gables police arrived. I have heard in all they waited 30 minutes. Time will tell. OK the first guy was a coward, so what were the other 3? The sheriff says the first guy should have went in and killed the threat. So I guess it wasn't policy. And I thought we all learned better after Columbine, when the waited outside forever.
