LS- You are not helping yourself not trying the crutches stuff. Your whiskey is even better now as a pain management medication regimen. At least 10 years aged. I already have "visions" of your PT
During my knee recovery period I was home bound and had to bring 100's maybe 1000's of billable service hours by provider reports (a few really squirrelly) back to "compliance"

. Some dod not make muster. The regional director would come once a week bringing beer(s) to give me "corporation updates." Honestly I would hold off until you are really able to move around before the "light duty."
Phil- Thanks for your location. What applies to most does not really apply to our higher elevations. My wife commuted to Springfield for +25 years. I commuted for ~3. The traffic patterns down there are a product of "impaired" thinking by some civil engineers.
We "worked" a lunch into one of the best barbecue restaurants that I have had the great pleasure to eat (Bear's) in the region on our way home. I believe the barbecue there would satisfy all the barbecue addicts here.. I had a burnt ends sandwich with decent sides and wifey had the brisket. I spoke with the manager; a really nice guy and +++manager. At least I have his + approval on my own smoked rib barbecue (jerked overnight, smoked low&slow&mopped as needed). And made it home via a stop at the supermarket to get some food and enough food to get through this next "snow" event (~5") here. Then the warmth begins again.
And as soon I got home I googled into the St.B. rescue site to find there is not 1, not 2, not even 3; but 13 St. B.'s soon to be available.

The story: A male SB was apprehended running loose by LE. The license # led back to a "Back Yard Breeder" where there was Mom and 12 pups. They are up for adoption early March. An application has been already submitted. We hope for 2 in any combination.
Hopefully a gift to fill the void.
I am still processing everything, but it's good to be home and the ol' bed looks pretty comfy right now.
My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for all.
