Down to 65, 1/4 inch of rain in 10 minutes, but we’ve only had around .4 from this system so far, meanwhile not far up the road has 2.5 and counting.

29 currently. Some snow showers and freezing rain moving in. Forecast are for light amounts.

Spent the day migrating chickens. They now have 2/3 of the barns. Then fed cows and calf. Wishing I had a set of scales for the cows. But I just can’t justify them at my current size. Not having any luck leasing pasture ground. Everyone wants a crop lease. It pays better.

CBD oils just starting to be heard of around here. Commercial hemp was only legalized a few years ago and has really taken off. Lots of interesting claims about CBD oil and autism. Just not much research material yet. Figure that will change in the coming years.

Definitely getting older, maybe not any wiser... We’re going to check opposite ends of the country.. the great NW (Washington, Oregon, mid/northern Idaho, western Montana) then the SE (NC, SC, mid/north FLA, Tenn, Kentucky) never been to any of these areas... I figured, at worst, we won’t want to live in a particular place, but we’ll enjoy visiting. So many things to consider about all the areas, cost, climates, work or not... the list goes on and on... who knows if we could ever figure it out!

Be happy to have a guy like you around. Even if just for a visit.
We have interesting weather. It can snow 7 months a year. Or we can have 80* and tornadoes any month of the year.
Cost of living is pretty decent. Taxes fairly low. Properties are decently priced depending on how rural you want to be.
Definitely not the desert.

Unfortunately, the Kalifornia influence is spreading both north and west, and Oregon and Washington are getting both crowded and pretty invasive as far as legislation goes. Rural NorCal is pretty wide open and properties are still pretty affordable, at least in the northern foothills of the Sierra, and the climate is excellent, but those blood suckers in Sacramento have their hands deeper into my pockets every year. Best to travel around like you're planning to do, with a sense of what would make a good place for you to settle down. I did that for forty years and ended up here when I pulled the plug on the SF Bay Area at retirement. Saw enough of New Mexico during my career to know I couldn't ever live there. With your skills, you can find work almost anywhere.

Finished my taxes and filed. Nice refund this yr, so need to adjust withholding. Reason for bigger refund from prev yr is wife made good bit less, and i had more withheld than before. Most everything else tracked with prev yrs. The new 10k limit on local taxes gonna hurt me a lot next yr.

50° and misty, heavy fog.

23 here. Snowed this morning, I waited until it was finished to plow out my place and 2 neighbors. Really getting to be too much for a back blade, I had to move the piles of snow back, I didn't have anyplace to put the new stuff. We have had over 20 inches so far this month. And no warm days to melt any off. We did a little shopping in the morning, coffee, then back home. I am really getting tired of this winter stuff....

Have a good one!!

Looking absolutely beautiful! You are doing great work. Can't wait to see it done. I did a partial restore on a cb350 years ago, but nothing like your doing. The spoke work is awesome.

Definitely not the desert.

Was looking briefly on the net at some Kentucky property, gorgeous land, but the restrictions at those parcels were too restrictive. Definitely going to research further. We like to be about an hour out from "civilization" (at least where there is available lumber and tractor stuff) Kentucky is high on the list. Not sure if I like the tornado aspect though.

Northern Ca is on the list to see on the way up to the NW. Was initially going to go through late April/early May, but I think we're going to cancel the trip so I can start on a building project before the weather gets hot. Too many things to do...
