Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Where does one get these high flow industrial quick disconnects?

I also bought the HF super dude, bad to the bone 1/2" impact and I want to replace my 3/8" steel line with 1/2" and then stay big/high flow all the way to the tool.

I never knew that there was better and higher flowing quick disconnects and such.

Re: Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck Hercules tools battery question.

HF sells a line if Cordless Drills etc going by the brand Hercules tools.

I should have brought my 20V Lion Dewalt battery to the store to compare if it has the same mount as the Hercules.
Anybody know?
Hercules brand has a 5.0 Ah battery pack rated 100wh. That is a biggie all day battery.

The batteries are slightly different. AvE on YouTube did some vidgeos (if you watch him, you'll get that) on it.

I just posted this in another thread but the best 12V test light I ever got came from Harbor Freight a few years ago.

Above is a generic picture but my HF one has one with a long cord and a long and sharp metal probe. Works great. I didn't find the one I have on-line just now but saw it in the store a while back.

Curious if anyone has experience with the 21 gal compressors ( item no.'s #61454, 62803 , 69091). My old Porter Cable finally bit the dust after many years of service and 2 compressor rebuilds so I bought the above mentioned HF model the other day to replace it. I had to reset the motor 7 times before it would start so I could run it for the initial 1/2 hour break in. It is an oil lubricated compressor and it was 10 degrees F in the shop when I did the initial start up/ break in it but I have to say that my initial impression is pretty poor and would not expect the temps to effect start up. I did buy the 1 year ESP so whether it turns out OK or not, I am going to replace it before the service plan runs out- just really curious if anyone else has bought one and can give their impression?

I read some reviews on this one and some other name brand similar compressors. Common theme was they are poor for cold weather since they cannot be started. Some were popping breakers in temps above 40*. Maybe after they break in they wouldn't have that issue though.

Thank you PJSprog for your advice!

You're quite welcome, California. I hope you get the same years of use out of yours that I have gotten out of mine. I've use plenty of Fluke meters over the years (as well as others), as I worked in the electronics industry for about 20 years. They make excellent meters. However, I don't use mine at home every day in an industrial capacity, so I just needed something that works and doesn't break the bank. I didn't do much research at all, honestly. I just bought what looked like it would work for me. Guess I got lucky with the HF meter. As we frequently find in this thread, some of their stuff just doesn't suck.

My take on 21 gallon Compressor: For the money it is good, but not a real quality piece and you shouldn't expect that at the price point.

Fine for occasional use.
My wife banged into my craftsman, and the HF is more than half the Craftsman at 1/3 the price.

HF's #68187 1/4" (threads) x 3/8" (I.D.) 'Automotive Series' air couplers:

I measured 7.5mm ID for the Automotive Series air coupler vs 5mm for HF's common brass coupler. That's 2.25 x the cross section area.

After posting that, there were replies that larger couplers don't make any difference at the volume we are talking about here. See the old post for details.

So what I'm to believe it's that putting the 1/2" air line on helps the Earthquake XT impact and that the small diameter fittings do not set the limit on airflow that the impact sees it how it will perform.

My mind has trouble coming to terms with that. It feels like the system would be limited by the smallest diameter within the entire run.

I was considering busting some concrete to install 1/2 black pipe from the compressor up to the shop and then maintain flow with all the largest diameter fittings and lines that I could use within reason. The final problem is the inlet diameter of the impact itself, it's below that 1/2" size so my mind says that I could use a sewer pipe up to that point, but it can only flow what that impact inlet allows.
