I'd say me too on that biscuit but I have to fess up to getting a homemade raisin bread and jellies from a neighbor, so
that was pigged out on this morning. And best part of blueberry marmalade was not a lot of sugar added so one can taste the blueberries.
Yum.

.13 inches and coming down in a nice steady rain. Built third set of seedling shelves, taking a break before doing two more. Got all the plastic down first, nice project as the rain comes down

Borla's Pipe-Organ Tech Gets Your Car Riffing Like AC/DC - Technologue - Motor Trend

these pics of pipe organs made me chuckle at this car article, polyphonic mufflers, new term, pipe organ tech
Don, get some polyphonic mufflers that PJ can help you tune...and let 'er rip on your driveway.

They will be available on the Kia Stinger!

"Borla has just scratched the surface of what this technology can do and is working to develop computer simulations to speed development of new systems. At press time, polyphonic pipes are available for the Focus RS, Fusion Sport, Challenger R/T, and Infiniti Q60S, soon to be joined by BMW M3/M4, Honda Civic Type R, and Kia Stinger systems."

Good morning, late to check in but up early as usual. Hope Riptides had a good outcome for his wife. Prayers to all, too many of us to list, but the Lord knows who we are, at least I hope he can keep track, I’m not doing it too well!
Some clouds and sun, no rain steady or dropping through the 40’s. I need to get back to tractor shopping. Have a good day all.

38°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 55° today. Snow in the prediction for Saturday.

Wife and I ordered Chinese for dinner last night, as she was too tired to cook after running her brother's girlfriend back and forth to the hospital in St. Louis much of the day. Picked her up, took her home so she could shower, and took her back. The boy is doing very well, they say. He was born with both coronary arteries on the same side of his heart, so they had to move one. I find it fascinating that they can shut off your heart, disconnect it, move stuff, reconnect it, restart it after 4 or 5 hours, and everything still works fine. We're a pretty cleaver bunch of monkeys.

After dinner, we sat around for about an hour perusing an online Cherokee dictionary. I discovered that they offer a language course for $45, and she was definitely interested in that, as her family heritage on her mother's side is Cherokee/Choctaw mix. Guess we'll be learning a new language this winter.

Hinners made some very nice instruments, Don. I've had the pleasure of working on a couple. Thanks for the info.

Tuned pipes on vehicles could be a neat thing. It could also be a monstrosity, if not done well. Think of how bad a slightly out of tune piano or guitar sounds, then imagine a dozen or so of them around you in traffic ... :pullinghair:

My youngest brother died of a heart defect at age 17. With the procedures they have today he would have been cured. He would have been 56 tomorrow.

Something else fascinating that someone sent me some time ago, is the Sea Organ in Zadar, Croatia. The waves push the air through the pipes, and make their own music.

When my Wife had her procedure back in the early '70s, it was still relatively new. She just turned 50 ... er, I mean 29, again.

Sorry about your brother, Ron.

Good Morning!!!! 36F @ 6:45AM. Sunny. High around 50F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.

That's the coldest it's been since last winter so far. Looks like our long spell of mild weather may be over; highs aren't expected to reach much over 50F for the next ten days.

Too bad the video on the Indian didn't show it running, Don. I bet it made a sweet sound, being a 4 and all.

Hoping for a good outcome for Rip's wife today.

Drew, how do you keep track of what seeds went where?:confused2:

Here ya go, Wng: Dinner last night:

Did I do it right?:licking:

Doing some more research on the dryer vent cleaning; I'm worried a bit because there are at least three 90° bends in the vent line, and I'm pretty sure it's made from that plastic wrapped spiral wire stuff, not robust at all. I think a rotating brush type cleaner might punch through pretty easily, and reviews have a lot of people complaining that the wands break, leaving the brush stuck in mid duct. So I wondered if there was any truth to the leaf blower technique, and besides several Youtube videos showing it working well, I found this one. It was on an AR-15 forum, so I figured if anybody knew about high velocity, it would be these guys. After all, what could go wrong?

Finished the engine cover on the old bike yesterday. I figured I'd better get to it so I could get the bead blaster cleaned out and covered up before last night's rains came. Shouldn't have worried since we only got 0.08" and the front that brought it is long gone. No more in sight for at least another ten days, either. Seems like the great California Drought isn't done yet.

Enjoyed a fire in the woodstove last night, and not only was it warmer inside when I woke up this morning, it's always a lot easier to get the fire started when there are a few coals left over.

Happy Hump Day!

Hope to get my pieces of lumber assembled today, but first I have a generator issue to address.

Be safe
Have a great day

Drew, how do you keep track of what seeds went where?:confused2:

considering I have multiple thousands of them....
sanity check today after assembling the shelving. Pleased that my guestimates were pretty good, still need another five trays but wanted to see which size I needed. I did all the melons and the tomatoes in the big pots, per instructions, and basically placed the seed packets in each destination to make sure I didn't miss anything. This is about half the seeds; rest are beans and corn and beets and carrots and they either get hand planted or using the Earthway push planter.
So how do I keep track? Well, the hard way. A little plastic card in each pot/hole. Box of one thousand. Need another box. Have nice markers for out in garden, where the start of each new variety will have a tiny sign, but not one for every plant. I'll clean them off and reuse them. Pretty indestructible plastic actually.

tray warmers for the five melon trays. Instructions say they like heat. Half these things are from the Middle East, I bet they do like the heat. A number of Israeli items including a cucumber and a colorful melon. Plus some plain old American watermelons.
Waiting on some cheap Amazon basics surge protector strips to hook all this up, blind myself on those grow lights, so nice this is all low wattage. I think all of the lights and the warmers total under 500 watts. Warmers are hungrier than lights.

Packet of onion seeds says plant up to 12 weeks inside prior to last frost and that means I need to get a move on.
All good. I don't have much else to do around Xmas and the rains are coming down so driving around leaves tracks.

triple 10 ordered? check 30 bags of cow manure? check potatoes ordered? check
organic seedling mix ordered? check
sure I'm forgetting something basic...though I know i do need more deer plastic fencing.

...though I know i do need more deer plastic fencing.

And maybe a couple dozen 3/4" steel ball bearings and a wrist rocket, you know, for when the deer fence isn't working.

Might also want to invite local law enforcement to drop by for a look see. Otherwise they're gonna see the grow lights and think you've planted something a little more lucrative than carrots.

   / Good morning!!!! #66,298
I thought about that, except I'm doing it in the front living room facing the street, hardly hiding anything, though I suppose I could shut the shades at night, that might be smart.

The carrots are too numerous, 1800 in three little packets, for anything other than direct planting with the manual seeder. But if someone wants to come in and check on my melons, well ok...

Sorry Ron, my son will be 42 in May, about 15 years apart, but light years in medical technology. My son痴 procedure was done in 1980 by the doctor considered the best in the country, Dr. Gardner. He went on to become chief surgeon at a large Atlanta hospital after he left Hopkins. Jeff went on to play high school football and baseball and now is the father of two sons.
