Sometimes there are so many that you wouldn't be able to grow anything for a year after. My mother taught me that a 30" steel rod pointed on one end and sharp on the other is easier than salt, no bending over. Also great for grossing out your children,:ill::ill: and no slimy piles later. Line em' up and a flip of the wrist casts them into the woods out of sight and mind.
My mother was a wise women.:)

Feed them some of your beer, they go in get drunk and drown. Use a larger container than this google picture pan. Keep the rim about 1 above soil level.
