No, I知 not strong, I知 a mess and I put off what I can, but sometimes I do something that has to be done and often cry my way through it.

good morning all. Warmer weather has arrived, 37 now going up to mid 50s, and I see temps in the lower 60's in front of Christmas.

Have some leaves to blow and some grass seed to put down on places repaired yesterday.

My sugar cookies came out ok, but next time I'm making more healthy cookies that taste better and just not look festive.
As I bit into one, the first thought that came to mind is who needs more sugar?

I see cold in your future right after Christmas

The F1 I mentioned above in previous post would make you a good delivery truck. DREWS PRODUCE on the door wow!

Good morning all, 43 this morning going to 42 with wind gusts as high as 21. Oatmeal is in the rice cooker, yes I know some other gadget would do it better but...... Went to Costco yesterday and spent a kings ransom. Bp pills were $380, 6 mounts supply, and ended up with two carts. Wore out by the time I got home, still feel a little off but did not want to fight the Christmas rush. Told my wife I had ordered a book on banjo building and she started asking questions. She had ordered it for me for Christmas, so I have it setting in the chair next to me and will start reading it today. Hope to finish my Christmas shopping today, we will see. Told wife last night after walking the dog that I need a pair of worm coveralls, this cold wind is to much.

Buckeye, Feel better soon, that is an order. More prayers sent.

Randy, You are getting there, prayers sent.

Have a great day. Ed

Drinking first cup of coffee. 10° with partly cloudy skies. Heading to 18° with sunny skies. While neighbor did clean drive he sis not do the walkway to house. Let dog out this morning. She is in periscope mode to keep her head above the snow. Must be a 12" or more at back door. If this keeps up I will have to put snowblower on JD mower. Wife want to go to a Christmas party with her RED Hat group. Will have see how roads are. I do see cars going by on road out front.
Buckeye, hang in there. Good sleep cures a lot.
Wife and I having to make a big decision soon. FDA has released a new drug (Radicava) for ALS patients. The progress so far has been slow. But this stuff may stop it completely.
Riptides, prayers.
Randy, it will get better.
Good Morning All.

Roy, how's the driving up there?

L4N, too cold to snow, Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr throw another log in the stove
that's what a five dog night?

I'm not entirely sure healing prayers work, but I am very sure I don't know that they don't..., so just in case they do,
may all the joy of good health be visited upon those in need. This is a tough month physically on folks, and for sure emotionally if one has had a loss.
My wife died in November too. We are all going to leave a gift under Randy's tree this year, it will take him all day to open all those good wishes.
And he will know that life goes on in a remarkable and wondrous way when surrounded by friends.

Only a motorhead like Randy would find a V8 Kia, right out of the big Genesis sedan.
If you were a Hyundai, Samsung or LG bigwig in South Korea, with a big family, this is what you drove.

Roy, how's the driving up there?

We got enough snow Monday night into Tuesday that I stayed home. Wednesday was a pretty slow drive...took about 30 minutes longer than usual.
Vermont does a pretty decent job in road clearing and "real" Vermonters don't let a foot or so of snow to slow them down...sure slows me down though!

34 this morning and headed to 40 today.

Have lots of things to do. Some chicken coop maintenance, some more fall bush hogging, and I also need to do some dirt work over in a rented hayfield. The guy that does the crop ground cleared some ground last spring and there was an old pond dam there. Only about 6 inches tall but needs to be smoothed down and the ditch I dug through it last year feathered out. Crossed it this fall with hay baler and it’s just too rough.

Buckeye. Take it easy even on the days you feel good. Get better. It takes time.

Guy that owns the local chicken parts supply house passed away Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. They said he went to hospital because he wasn’t feeling good and was sent home. Later tried to go back and collapsed in his driveway. Believe he was in his 70’s.

Stay safe all.

37 going to 49.

So windy, I just about blew away while cutting firewood yesterday.

Had the HVAC company come out yesterday. Our geothermal system was blowing only cool air. Unfortunately I rebooted the system before the tech arrived, which got it blowing hot again, but it cleared the error codes. So the tech showed me how to find and read the codes if it happens again, which is certain, so back they will likely need to come.

L4N, cute cartoon, but way too cold up your way.

BEF, Kyle needs to send you some of his chicken noodle soup to help you get well.

sure slows me down though!

that's because you're smart. Just managing your grip on life...

time to wrap a few small presents. My neighbor the fireman who gets my mail every day and puts it inside for me, when I'm off on road trips, plus he drives the property with his ATV
making rounds. So Santa for sure had something for him in the way of thanks. A large combo gun cleaning kit in a Cordura bag, should have enough gizmos there's something in there he doesn't already have. This would be a second or third set I'm sure. He's fastidious with his equipment, so unlike our mutual other neighbor aka The Drunken Farmer who wrecks everything
he touches. And if my fireman engineer neighbor has to re-gift it because some friend gave him the 685 piece set last year, well ok.

Christmas Eve I go food shopping for the farmer and drop off a couple of bags of groceries, more expensive stuff he wouldn't normally buy, since sadly so much of his money has gone to booze and his cats. I also got a big bag of cat food from Tractor Supply on sale for his remaining twenty cats, after the 34 got taken away last week. Plus a cat toy.
Never been through the door threshold of his trailer, it's so gross and smells so bad in there I have to crack the door and put the groceries on the floor after I know I've roused him.
This is honestly hard for me to do because I guess I get skeeved pretty easily.

When he is lucid, my neighbor quietly admits to totally losing it. And basically being lost. Losing his wife set him off the edge, which he had gone over many times before,
and on holidays he goes on a serious tear.
Since he knows I don't judge him or berate him, I just try to help, I get an earful when we are together. Even worse I'm a quiet guy and he is almost deaf, can't afford
hearing aids, so he yells all the time. I'm constantly telling him to lower his voice. And he does. For a little while. But then I'm itching to go before I start itching. For real...genuine bugland around that trailer.

Sun is up so time go outside. Just needed a little warmth to show up.

Temperature just dropped down to 5°. Dog will have to practice at crossing her legs until it warms up a little. A little too cold for snow plowing.
Today TBN hit a all time high of 18 blocked sites on Ghostery. Hope they are making enough money to keep the forum running. Google seems to be the most blocked.

The kicker for me, is all my stomach problems had nothing to do with my surgery. I left the hospital 2 wks ago with a week of antibiotics, amoung other stuff. Last week my surgeon said he didnt perscribe the antibiotic, i shouldnt of had it. It has sure messed me up. He's not sure why the mixup.

Boys fly home from college tonight, wife gets to pick them up after midnight. I worry about her going that far that late.

Tired of chicken noodle soup. I have no diet restrictions, just dont feel like eating usually. But i have lost weight, havent been this low in over 20 yrs.

Got a dusting of snow last night, it stayed 10° warmer than predicted, 28 now.

My lazyboy recliner is jambed, can't put foot rest down.

Need to get work computer going.

that cartoon is more fact than fiction. Warm, not hot water and lots of it is the ONLY thing that will remove a tongue frozen to metal AND there is no guarantee the tongue wont lose some of its' skin.
I've hand my hands stick to frozen metal before and every time it happens I think of the hapless people that stick their tongues to metal.

Ron. Radicava is an antioxidant drug, interesting. I wonder how much is given through the IV. How is it different from eating a high amount of antioxidants every meal? How is the IV method more effective than ingestion of antioxidants? - Questions to ask your Dr. along of course with the side effects.

Antioxidants are good for heart disease also. Reminds me to be sure to get the minimum each day.

Need to put an extra helping of blue berries on my oatmeal.

I added too much water in my all in one pot - Instant Pot - mashed garlic potatoes. I figure this out AFTER I started blending them with the immersion blender. So I Threw a handful of parsley in it and had a good bowl of hot potato soup. I was thinking If I was up north this would really warm me up.

That is the LUX not the DUO, but I have one of each and they both work great. The DUO has a few more buttons. That looks like the regular price on the LUX ($79) the DUO is usually $20 more.

Here is a review comparison between the DUO and the LUX.

The newest DUO PLUS (blue display) is impossible to get before Christmas.

Did anyone ever watch the Connections series by James Burke? (I loved those shows)

Connections DVDs have been available on Netflix for a while now. Unfortunately, Netflix seems to be phasing out DVDs, or the supply of them is failing, because not all discs in the series are available. Perhaps if they were shipped in something stronger than those flimsy paper envelopes, the DVDs would last longer. I seem to get two or three a year that won't play because of damage. Usually it's just abrasion on the playing side, and I've been able to polish those out. But I've seen more than a few that were cracked, and besides making a funny noise in the drive, not much else comes out of them.:confused2::laughing:

30ーF and cloudy this morning, going up to 37ー today. Expecting near 60ー on Saturday. :confused2:

The near gale force winds subsided sometime over night. I had to collect the empty trash cans again this morning, as they had blown all over the driveway. Went looking for one of the lids with my small flashlight, and encountered a bunch of shining eyeballs staring at me from the front yard; probably half a dozen deer. Popped my head back inside and told The Wife that it was missing, and I didn't want to spook the deer looking for it. As I backed out of the driveway, it became quite apparent that the missing lid was, in fact, wedged under my car. It made quite a ruckus as I hit the gravel part and dislodged itself. As my headlights swung across the yard, the deer were now nowhere to be seen.

You're a good kid, Drew. I suspect even your polluted neighbor knows how good he has it.

Good points. Biggest problem with her current condition is the ability to swallow.
