Waiting to see the Floridians popping into the thread with their snow weapons lol. They got more snow in the pan handle than we have gotten here in ND so far this year haha.:dance1:

Yeah, first snowfall of the season. Really sucked though, it was that wet, dense stuff. Ground is nowhere near frozen!

I suspect it’ll be Xmas before get enough to plow and the unfrozen Ground I will skim with the front plow and to clean up tilt the box scraper so the front cutting edge is off the ground by an inch or more until the ground freezes. I’m shortening a hydraulic cyl. to make a top link that will help out with the tilting.

Here is what I use. It is diesel and does 500 of steeply inclined driveway pretty well.

That should work great!

We're supposed to get a cold snap Wednesday (down to -14 overnight), you guys will probably feel that too. Hopefully that tightens things up for the next blast. (Getting up to 5c here Tuesday though lol). Going to take a bit of getting used to these winters in the maritimes.

Had to break out the equipment today for the first time this season. I use a Landpride 1596 FEL plow on the front of my Kubota L6060. I have an old Frizori ag spreader on the 3pt for spreading ash. I replaced the 540 PTO shaft with a hydraulic motor to control the spread pattern. For the deep stuff, I break out the Woods SS74 blower.

Works well for clearing 1.25 miles of private road and several driveways.

I don't know, but from what I see, it looks like snow can get in between those joist's...:p
Those support beam's....whats underneath them?

I just started the building this weekend. There痴 no roof yet, maybe next weekend I can get the roof done. The support beams are 6x6 post with concrete pillars under them. They were exposed, but I brought a bunch of fill in and crushed rock to level off the area. The wood is not touching the ground.

The secret is not to plow but rather to compact it and make a 'base'.
Other option is to install skids or skis on the plow so as to leave enough to create a base and then to drive and compact it.

Up here (Quebec) it was so cold that our ground is now frozen so no more problems.

That’s the factory snow sport mount which they want over $400 for the angle version.

This is what I have to work with IMG_9305.JPGIMG_9306.JPG just the blade.

That’s kinda the design I was thinking of and have a buddy (journeyman iron worker) build it. That poorly drawn pic will be off the horizontal bar of the push mount. Amazon.com: CURT 4912 Raw Steel Receiver Tubing: Automotive

As far as how to attach it to the FEL, I was gonna use my pallet fork back plate, I also want to add a bale spear to the back plate at the same time. IMG_9373.JPG

Think it’s doable? Combination plow/bale spear/ pallet forks, I would only have to store the forks or plow/ receiver mount in the off seasons.

Was also gonna have him weld on some D rings to the tractor for anchor points for transportation.

Would that do much in wet sticky snow? It seems like it might compact it some but probably just make slush out of it.

They were well before my time Creamer, I suspect they didn't worry about a slushy snow and I'm under the impression that they were a "northern" cold climate item where we get very little natural shush (that's not from salt). :confused3:
