For example:
I type in:
www. tractobynet. com
but without the spaces after the periods, then when I preview it or post it the board software puts [ url] (without the space after the [ bracket) in front and [/url] behind

www.tractobynet.com

Is there some way I can turn it off?

If I understand what you are saying... if you don't type in www. you will not get the forum code that creates a hyperlink.

When you are typing the post, click on "Advanced" and then uncheck "Automatically parse links in text"

I don't think so, I looked but I didn't see anything that jumped out as being able to do that permanently. The only thing that might work is to go to the basic text only editor. But I'm not sure on that.
