Well the Mahindra representative is gone, of course. I stopped by the dealer location today that has my tractor. They are still working on it. I was told by an employee their that they have gone around and around with that Mahindra. Next try is a new ignition switch to see if it has a short in it. If the area service representative was that good of a mechanic would the local mechanic(s) still be trying to figure it out? And he’s gone.

I would say that a complete loss off engine power anytime you try to do anything with it that involves hydraulics would be a huge failure with a new tractor. (Only 260 hours on a 2017) And the problem has been repeated umpteen times now. And they haven’t been able to solve it. This is their fourth time, and the days just keep adding up that I have no tractor. The third time was local mechanic and area service representative both fixing it. Then it fails when I use it right in front of area representative. Talk about frustration for a tractor owner.
I am amazed, just amazed and stunned, sitting here knowing that I spent this amount of money on an entire tractor, loader, backhoe and implements package deal on what Mahindra calls their “premium” tractor in this size. I can’t use any of it if the tractor doesn’t work.

And no one. Not Mahindra. Not my dealer. Is stepping up and doing the right thing here. It apparently is acceptable to them that I sit here and wait longer until they fix my tractor. After all I have been through.

This is how my dealer treats me.

This is how Mahindra treats me.

At what point does either the dealer or Mahindra do what is right? It looks to me like that is not on their agenda anytime soon. Wouldn’t it be right, by now, to offer me a new tractor. Are they really going to make me go through legal litigation in order to get a tractor that works?

I just find this despicable!

The lawyer comes next if I don’t get my money back, quick like. Tractor fixed or not.

I think without your dealers input being available here on the forum, we can't really see an unbiased picture of the entire scenario. Not saying that you (Gasifier) have said anything untrue or even biased, I simply do not know that, but I am feeling anymore comments of any value regarding your actual tractor problem would first need to be illuminated by dealer input. Until these most recent lawyer comments, I'd say you have been a patient and understanding customer, albeit frustrated.

But in a generic sense if a dealer sees that a customer is unredeemable as a future customer, then I suspect he will want to just fix the tractor under warranty as is his obligation, and not lose a ton of money doing a buyback for a customer that will never be appreciative. And keep in mind, that even if a buy back was offered, you would owe for your usage and any damage on the tractor and so forth. On average, a compact tractor will be used about 100 hours a year. Most folks putting on roughly 500 hours a year on a compact tractor are working the tractor commercially. There are certainly exceptions to those averages, and you may be that exception.

Once fixed, and I am sure they will fix it, there are other ways to get rid of that tractor in contrast to a buy back or refund. You can sell your used tractor and get fair market value and move on to another brand. This is probably the best solution.

Are the folks at corporate Mahindra really so stupid?
How many of the thousands of us here on TBN are EVER going to consider buying a Mahindra, after following this scenario?
As Dave suggests: When your tractor eventually gets fixed ....sell it...and, "move on to another brand".
Be certain to explain to all your friends, and neighbors just why THEY should NEVER buy a Mahindra.
I am not a friend or neighbor, but ....I am onboard!

I'm reserving judgement until we actually find out what is wrong with the tractor. I can imagine different scenarios where the problem could have unintentionally and/or unknowingly been caused by Gasifier. I'm not blaming or accusing, just pointing out that things happen like maybe getting a bad load of fuel that could have damaged the injector pump or injectors.

At first I was really on board with this but now.......

Im really starting to wonder if any of this is true.

2 threads on this and not one pic ,video, or document to support any of the problems.

This has been going on for months now, and the owner still claims they cannot fix his tractor.

Complains on here about all his lost time but then says he tells the dealer he does not blame them.

All this time and multiple failures and not one piece of documentation.

A lot of good advise given but not taken.

I hope my feeling is wrong and Gassifer just does not have the experience and personality to handle it.
Like he is too nice.

I would hate to be correct and have this all be just to make Mahindra look bad.

There are two sides to this story and we are only hearing one.

We are not on the same page, except we agree that this customer probably ought to sell and move on. One bad dealer/customer relationship is surely not enough to slam dunk an entire brand.

I have sold many hundreds, probably a couple thousand Mahindra tractors. I have satisfied customers. These are good tractors. On occasion there is an issue, and we resolve it quickly. I think there is more to this story than we know. And I don't mean that as a challenge to Gasifier, I'd just like to hear the entire story from purchase to now from the dealer.

If you look at John Deere, New Holland - or pick your favorite brand, you will see they have tractors in the shop being repaired, and some will be 2017 models that have some issue. It happens to all brands. The problem comes when a customer loses faith in your ability to fix the tractor. That is much harder to repair than a tractor.

If it was a fuel issue. Why would the tractor sit there and run fine? Even after the power issue begins and the check engine light comes on. Same with pump or injectors. Once the problem starts, it is only when you try to do something with anything that requires hydraulics, when it bogs down and the RPMs go in the toilet. They come back when you stop what your doing.

Wow. Just wow. I wasn’t blaming the dealer because he didn’t make the tractor. He is just trying to save his profit. I’ve had a good relationship with them for years. Bought many things from them. Unfortunately that has now gone out the door because of this tractor. I have a hand written receipt I was given for a little over $45,000. Does that start to tell you how the dealer operates? They are not “with the times” on computers.

Do you think I made the pictures up of my tractor in the other thread as well?
