They must've blocked the suspension to get that much drywall on that truck. I can't get a count on the sheets but it's a lot of weight. Assuming it's 4x8 drywall and 58 pounds a sheet and a stack 18" tall it's right at a ton.

Looks like 22 sheets (11 pairs).

This video really demonstrates just how little most people know about how vehicles are constructed and what a good tow anchor point is. I'm not sure how I ever figured that stuff out, but thinking about it now, I bet my kids haven't really been educated on it. Growing up in the country has its benefits...

When i was at my brother's farm the other day I noticed his big green tractor that had a cable going the complete length of it - the purpose to not pull form the front end because it would pull apart. I just had to add this seeing all those green pictures in your signature and you talking about how vehicles are constructed.

I think you may have mistaken my comments' meaning. I'm talking about folks not realizing that you can't just attach a tow rope to a bumper or grill guard and expect there to be no consequences. You have to fasten it to something solid like the frame or a hitch. Otherwise you rip crap apart. My comments weren't talking anything about the quality of construction of vehicles.

No I got it but just saw a little irony in the placement with those pretty green photos and had to pick on you a bit.

I just always found it funny that JD made there large 4WDs so light that they had to supply a tow cable with the tractor - of course they didn't find this out until some had been out in the field a while and they got a few complaints.

When I was still in the mechanic shop at work, some young engineers turned a truck in for repair. They got it stuck, then hooked a tow rope to the brush guard. It just pulled the bar off the middle. So much for the 4 years of college.

Even 4 years of college can't fix stupid. And I say that as an engineer.

It is amazing the stuff smart people will hook to on the assumption it will hold when common sense overwhelmingly suggests otherwise. It's as though they expect a free do-over if things don't work out.

Jd isn't the only 1, it's an option on all the brand's.

I did not know that. I have seen many 4WD tractors and the JDs are the only ones I see with permanent cables hanging under them.

It just seems strange to think that they hang lots of weight on the front ends and expect the front wheels to provide more than 50% of the pull knowing all those forces go through the hinge yet they need cables. Although on the other side of it - as we have seen in many posted videos - there are lots of people who do not use common sense and I guess that would include some people who are driving these large tractors as well.
