I don't know much about the quality of TYM tractors but I do know that Yanmar builds great Diesel engines. Dealer support over the long term would be my primary concern.

Back in the '80's time frame, best I can remember on the time line, a Yanmar dealer popped up on the highway on the way to work. They are still with us. "Quality survives the test of time". I think I recall recently seeing a posting where Yanmar is building or maybe did build the neighbor's new JD 4052 when I was looking up specs on it.

Questionable, having a tractor serviced by a Rural King clerk whose other job is stocking shelves/cashier ... caveat emptor
Well sir, back in 2007 when I was looking for a new tractor, my first stop was green. The shop was full as was the "to be repaired" lot..........didn't have that problem where I bought and haven't regretted it. Not bashing green, just too many customers for the available support.

While waiting for the owner to get me a cash price on my 2400 there was a 24-25 hp TYM sitting next to my Branson. I checked it out. You see where my money went. Rumor has it that TYM bought Kukje tractor works to get the Cummins license for diesel engines, like are in both of mine. If so, will be interesting what comes out of that marriage.

Good point. Our local New Holland.Kubota dealer will frequently have wait times over a month. My dealer gets me back rolling in days.

Funny, I never had the tractors back to the dealer for anything so what difference would have it have made! Internet and UPS is all I have needed over the years. But if I had it to do it again, would buy Red again!

Is the Drawbar attachment part of the Backhoe connection?

Yes it is. The backhoe is connected at the rear with 2 pins and at the front as well. Without the backhoe, it operates with normal drawbar.

I don't know how long RK will truly be in the tractor business, but they sure are spending the bucks to make it seem like they are in it for the long haul. At the store and warehouse in Waverly, Ohio they have a whole building dedicated to the assembly of these tractors. This is also where they will take tractors that need major service - i.e. split or something like that. They've hired several employees from the "big boys" and sent them for training on the new RK tractors and from what I've heard paying them very well to - better than the big boys. Then when I was speaking to tractor manager at the Circleville store, they've sent all of the them to training for the routine fix it type stuff. They bought them all of the tools and equipment they need. I have no reason to doubt him because we were talking more as friend vs a customer type conversation, he says they are selling very well.

I wouldn't take anything anyone in Circleville says as truth. First of all, these guys know NOTHING about tractors. I know. I stupidly purchased one, which they sold to me WITHOUT the usual fluids one expects when purchasing a new tractor. The tractor had about 4 hours on it when i took it home and i had another 4 on it before i checked all the fluids. When i spoke to the tractor manager at the time (early September) he told me I was the second person that day with the same problem and that they didn't have any of the same model due in until mid October. Alas, the new model came in Friday, and the tractor manager is now in a different position. i spoke to him and told him i was bringing my tractor in today. he said I could talk to the new guy since he wasn't working Sunday. Well, i dragged my tractor in (which is leaking oil out of the gear box under the seat area and they would not give me the promised tractor. Turns out their word is as good as their tractor people. hard to know if the machine is really any good. it's beefy, the hydraulics are a little overly responsive, but since mine already has a leak and it's prep wasn't properly completed it's hard to tell. don't believe a thing anyone says. if it isn't in writing, walk away. oh, and does anyone want a 24hp RK tractor for a good price? i can't wait to get rid of it.

Busy month! I've put around 20 hours on the RK55 using backhoe and grader box to cut drive for my father-in-law and spread gravel. I love this tractor! The more familiar I get with it, the more I like it! I definitely need to put some hooks on the bucket (bolt-ons or welded) and I think I'd like to add one to the back of my backhoe bucket as well. I ordered a 9" trenching bucket for it (still waiting for that). It seems that Rural King doesn't keep all it's equipment in stock and that, at least some things (like my bucket) are ordered from Korea (so 5-7 week wait). Anyway, here's a pic or two.

When I bought mine, it already had the backhoe on it. So I was able to buy the whole package at once. Tractor has been just great with not one issue. I'm getting ready to take it in for servicing. I just reached the 50 hour mark and even though I could change all fluids and filters myself, I thought it would be best to have them give it the once over for the 'first' time. Just a thought, there are, at present, 14 Rural Kings that sell tractors. I've seen some with the RK55 w/backhoe on the lot. Maybe you could cancel order and get one of the other ones to sell you one?
