Nice art work by Finnly. Just when Gray two thought he would get the pic of the day Finnly knocks him out of first place. Kyle where is the signature on the painting? That's the part that will make them very valuable when she becomes famous.

Gray2 came in for breakfast this morning but wanted out right away to go to the garden and stand watch. There still must be movement underground that is getting his attention, however I have seen no new mounds. ??

Good day though I didn't get done what I had planned. Spent almost two hours beating on an old hiller that my neighbor said would work on the Massey.
Part of it had to be stripped off, some optional ripper, because it was dangerously close to my tires. So rusted on could not get it off in the field, went back to barn, put
electric hammer wrench on it and that worked fine.

The big issue for me is I let him use the tractor this time, and he was delighted. Mostly to just get his field done but also because the Massey has power steering, which he says he's never had.
He said the clutch was hard on his leg and yeah it is. He also mumbled something about nice that everything works...

I have it back on my property tonight so my homeowners will cover it but tomorrow mid morning I'll take it back over there. After this none of his cultivators work on three point hitches so he's on his own with his Super A.
Soybeans are looking good.

The gopher's back. Hill # 5 popped up. I'll have to watch Caddy Shack to see how to get rid of him.

Supposed to be 75 and sunny, WRONG! Overcast, drizzle and 60’s again. Might be subby and 80’s tomorrow before the cold front that brings real fall weather gets here.
I only saw a few snakes and they were early in the spring. Last year I saw several in my backyard while mowing. I do have an 8 point buck that grazes on my septic mound in the back, I’ll try to get a picture.

Went to one of the grandsons soccer game this morning, whole complex was pink! Women Supporting Women were have a breast cancer walk. The Sea Gull Century bike race was in town, bicyclists everywhere, and a baseball tournament in town, you couldn’t get anywhere, the restaurants were full, what a day to be in Salisbury!

Hi all. Been a while. I'm working on my project in Sweetwater TX for a month getting it off the ground.
Anyway, I wanted to warn the crowd on a potential set up.
I went to Home Depot today to get some Velcro and went to the self check out to pay.
I scanned it, slid the card through and collected the receipt. As the total seemed a little high(20+ bucks!) for some Velcro I checked my receipt.
On it I found three items instead of the only one I had purchased.
The store promptly fixed it but told me there' been a rash of that happening.
Apparently, some kids go up to the self pay registers and then walk away after scanning a couple of items and leave the transaction open.
Dumb people like me who don't ever use those, walk up, see it say Scan Item and do that. Slide the card or chip in and pay.

Good morning all, 55 this morning going to 81. Fog this morning and then sunny so the humidity will be up. Got a little done on the pantry yesterday, but have a good bit to do. Will try to lay low today but still plenty to do.

Have a great day. Ed

Forecast promises no rain and a gentle breeze again today, although as Bups has noticed, it could get a little rough tomorrow. Plenty to get done outside, though I am sorely tempted instead to play with a present I was lucky to be given this week, which needs a little bit of welding.

Roller.jpg

The last one got stolen a few years ago when it had been left in the top field, in sight of the road. Thieves smashed off both bearings with a sledge hammer, that's all that was left the next day. This one will be staying closer to home.

First cup of coffee has been poured. 61° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 69° with late morning thunderstorms that will drop temperatures into the low 50's by early afternoon. Not going to get anything done out side today. Good visit and dinner with friend yesterday. May be a good day to watch some NASCAR.
Good Morning All.

Eric, nice find, I believe we call that a cultipacker. I'm sure the British have a more elegant name. The Queen's Roller...;)

another warm day, then the weather really changes and gets much colder at night. It's that time...
Mower deck painting is on the list for today, and perhaps a little more plant watering.

63 degrees and a very light rain falling with a nice northerly breeze. Hope it keeps up all day.

64 and some drizzle. Going to 82. Haven't seen the sun in several days, but promised later today.

Great art by Finnly!

We had another fun day at the Folk Festival. Much of it is on an island in the James River. A new pedestrian bridge was built all the way across the James River across some whitewater...about 1/3 of a mile long, and connecting parks on both sides...fun to watch the kayakers and rafters as well as the geese and herons. One of our US Senators was next to us taking in some bluegrass music.

Eric, today's Bing photo is of the Derwent Reservoir and dam...not too far from you...beautiful.

61° and drizzle. Grass needs mowed, but too wet.
Watched lots of football yesterday.

51 right now...high in the mid-70's today. Bit foggy and damp right now

Not much planned...finish mowing the lawn...a little weed trimming.
Definitely pick up that check for a gun that was sold on consignment...that's probably the first order of business since it's too wet to mow and probably will be until noon or so.

Good Morning!!!! 63F @ 6:15AM. 0% Precip. / 0.00 in. Partly Cloudy. High 81F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Fire warnings drop here at 8AM. We've still got very low humidity, but some recovery overnight and lighter winds. Containment increased to 90% overnight on the two closest fires; fingers crossed for no new ones.

That thing looks pretty heavy to be sprouting legs, Eric. Those thieves must have wanted the old one awfully bad.

Spent some time shopping for tires for the old motorcycle yesterday, and there isn't a lot of selection for 18" wheels. Nothing in the latest high mileage/good grip technology, and only a few traditional patterns with all the traditional problems (quick wearing, follow rain grooves). Maybe I should be happy any tires are available at all?

Pulled the bearings out of the front wheel yesterday and got all the grease off to find the bearings worn to the point they should be replaced as well. Today I'll run it through the bead blaster and clean off all the accumulated dirt and oil, then dive back into polishing the rims. New, smaller polishing mops arrived in the mail yesterday that should make that job easier. Also have a couple more parts that need satin black paint, one for the van, one for the old bike, and with cooler weather on the way by the end of the week, now is a good time to get it done.

One of the cable stations was playing "Tom Horn" last night, and old Steve McQueen movie. I didn't want to put up with the commercials, and "The Magnificent Seven" was already on the file server, so I watched that instead. Nothing better than a great cowboy movie where the good guys win in the end.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend.
