What, no load straps? :laughing:Went to the local contractor with my father, to pick up some compost and clean topsoil for his raised flowerbeds. Asked 2 cubic meter, the loader operator overshot with the topsoil and dropped an extra cubic meter.
On the scale, we topped 5960kg (13.139 pounds) without me and my father in it. The 2.5 TDI pulled off easily without touching the gas, just slowly releasing the clutch....
You can tow a car with no driver with a proper tow bar. This genius evidently overlooked that fine point........... What could possibly have made him think that was going to be anything except a disaster?

That could take the cake as possibly the stupidest plan ever. What could possibly have made him think that was going to be anything except a disaster?
Rob
I've heard of stupidity like that from someone who witnessed it. Bozo1 - a really big guy - insisted he could hold the weight of an automatic transmission using a rope from above and lower it safely into the pit below where Bozo2 disconnected the last bolt. The rope burned through Bozo1's hands, guy below got out of the way as the transmission crashed and shattered.Drunk?
All humor is at another's expense.
Except puns of course.
Can we stop our "feeling superior" threads and try to help?
