Drinking first cup of coffee. 42° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 72° with sunny skies. Off to another doctor appointment this morning. Worker showed up. Yeah! Roof project is complete. All neighbors tools cleaned and returned. Now I can moved unto another project. Power washing house and garage. Area's under eve's have several years of dust on them. Almost like it has tan stained white vinyl siding. Will have to work on coming up with something to get it back too white.
Don and others in the way of Harvey. Stay safe and dry.
Eric, while there is always a good feeling when my wife is happy with a completed job. :thumbsup:There's always a new one that will get added to the list. 20,040 of those married days has taught me something. :D Here is a link to find out exactly home many days between dates.

Good morning! 73˚. Had a good group of volunteers show up at the picnic grounds last night. No one was in the mood to continue to set up for the Fish fry with the impending storm. However it has not been canceled, they will consider it tonight. The grocery store was swamped yesterday evening, I just walked out with nothing rather than get to the end of the line that extended into the produce section. In all not a very productive day except for the visit with Dad.

My mom has been in the nursing home for three weeks, she had a seizure two days ago, another stroke I fear. She had gotten better for a few days prior, at 94 I guess she's finally just worn out. She was very listless and unresponsive yesterday, but they started her on anti seizure meds and that could be part of it. I miss the old mom that worked 8-10 hours 5-6 days a week until she was 86.

Nice cool day today, opened the windows letting in the breeze.

Please take care in the path of the storm! We want you all back here next week!

Eric, that's great, Lynn and I will be married 42 years in November.

Good morning all. Very little wind this morning, it is looking like a good day to throw a bit a paint onto some of the recent little welding projects, like the bonnet guard for the Iseki.

On the other hand, I really ought to get on with levelling the ground for where my wife's greenhouse is going. We have now been married for some 14, 598 days (plus a few more for leap years) and it would be nice to keep her happy for a couple of more days, instead of her looking back thinking how much better life could have been, if only she'd married someone who finished jobs on time. :)

Happy Anniversary Eric and wifey.

Today is our Anniversary too, and I've got a hurricane pressing on me to get some latent chores done. As of now, the hurricane is predicted to come within about 50 miles of us, then back up and head east along the coast. The Houston weatherman on KPRC was estimating 15 - 30 inches of rain in places. Bands of storms are hitting the coast now. Looks like it is aiming for Rockport Texas. Storm surge up to 12'.

63 and mostly cloudy - so nice stayed outside a while longer this morning. Should only hit 81, so will be nice day to mow and trim.

Randy, sorry to hear about your mom...I went to Virginia Beach to visit mine yesterday. I should do that more often. We took her to a nice seafood restaurant on the Lynnhaven Bay...ate fresh flounder on a covered dock right next to the water and had fishermen, crabbers and other pass right by in the channel. Brought back great memories of when I lived there, and rode right by that dock on the way out to the Chesapeake Bay on my outboard to go fishing.

Happy anniversary Eric and Kyle. Using that calculator, I see that my wife and I have enjoyed over 14K happy days.

Rip - good luck on that bid...are you sure you want to leave that pool? :)

The low this morning was 44*, yesterday high was 83*. Today it's going to be mostly sunny with the high in the mid 80's.

Everyone that's in the path of the hurricane, stay safe. Hopping the best for you.

A few little things to do today. Then might help the neighbor cut some wood.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

fresh donuts are served.
started at ten of six and done at ten of ten.
Fun to be out just when sun was coming up, listening to the roosters and the dogs waking up around the neighborhood.
Kyle, be careful, you are really close, I think others are further North of you.
Happy anniversaries to all.
Toppop, all you can do is give her a big kiss. Moms always like that...

Good Morning!!!! 72F @ 8:00AM. Abundant sunshine. High 94F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

A relatively cool 94F for a high today, but tomorrow it'll bounce over a hundred again and stay that way for the rest of the week. Ugh.

Not lookin' good for the Fish Fry, Don. Hope springs eternal though, but I hope you have as good a turn out for the tear down.:( And I hope you get your supplies laid in because from the looks of things Harvey's gonna stick around a while and dump a lot of rain. Good luck to all the Gulf Coasters out there!

Don't feel bad about your welding, Drew. If the garage door hadn't been shut, I would have thought a bird had come in and crapped all over these valve covers. Made good progress welding and then grinding back all the flat spots and gouges, and even got the ribs built up OK. Except when I did a double take on that one and found it flopped over to the side. No problem, I though, nothing a few well placed hammer blows wouldn't straighten out. Except the weld rod turned out to be stronger than the casting, and now I've got some cracks in the valve cover to weld up after I grind off all the crooked weld. The moral of the story is lift up the bucket and look at what you're doing more often.:ashamed:

Finally got enough info to finish off the center stand tang, so I'll see if I can't do that today as well.

As expected, not one iota of progress on the van last week. Not even the final tidy up of the wiring under the dash that was promised. But as soon as I walked in the door, the mechanic comes over with the piece of hose we've been waiting for on the fuel tank install, and put one of the helpers on it. I widened the cutout under the dash for the switch pot, slipped it into place, then found I'd left the strap that holds it on back home. Nothing else I could do, so I left. Missed a phone call from the mechanic last night, so it will be interesting to see what he has to say for himself today...:confused2: We're now seven weeks past delivery of the demand letter, which gave him a month. Once more he promised to work on the engine over the weekend, and if he doesn't this time, I think it's time for the trailer.

TGIF!:drink::thumbsup:
