Need to pour first cup of coffee. 72° with light rain this morning. Heading to 80° with rain and thunderstorms. I do not expect much rain. Radar shows most of the storms moving north and south of us. Got lawn cut yesterday. Also cleaned out about 90% of wood bin. Moved a yard of dirt to inside of barn. Todays project will be shoveling it into bin to level floor. Then trip up to local state park to visit son. He purchased a new travel trailer. Wants to show it to us. Going to stop and visit new Rural King store on the way.
Good Morning All.

Good morning all, 67 this morning going to 93 with a 50% chance of T storms, some could be nasty. Got the roller turned for my wife's loom yesterday. My buddy, a member of Central Va wood Turners, was a huge help. I did 95% of it and learned a lot. First time I ever turned anything. Wife is HAPPY. Hope to get more done on her loom today, we will see.

Rswyan, Praying your mouth heals fast.

Have a great day and stay cool. Ed

I'm never going to moan about the temps here after hearing what you Texas guys are baking through.
Well, maybe one little moan, 80 going up to 94 here.

I would not want to be RS waking up this morning, or in the middle of last night. We're all pulling for you. (heh heh heh)

today I need to mow the nut orchard and chip up some brush collected yesterday. Doing that right at 9am, early as I can for making lots of noise and trying to stay
out of afternoon heat. Need to make a quick run downtown, running out of milk and yogurt, good excuse to take the Jag out and give it some exercise.
Have been thinking about what I want to replace it with. Maybe a 2014 dark blue Corvette convertible. With a stick, while I can still drive one. Hmmmmm.

72 going to 98....hit 101 yesterday. Happy pi day.

After a few light chores, took wife out to lunch and Costco run. She's looking at new frames for her next glasses prescription. They had some pretty funky ones. I finally picked up some heavy steel shelving on sale...unloaded the 183 lb box out of the truck this morning...waited for this morning so the grass I had to drive over would have a little dew-moisture and not go crunch like it does all day just walking on it.

Drew's not gonna complain about the heat anymore (I'm taking bets :) ) and I'm not gonna complain about a week of rainy days next winter if I could just catch a shower today.

Garden is doing well, since I carry watering cans to all the plants each day...need to make one of those drip systems. Gave away quite a few vegetables yesterday...snap beans, basil, several types of peppers and tomatoes, and Okra anyone? :). Nothing like a ham, yams and okra summer meal...add in a little cornbread. I'm not a huge okra fan, but this year they have been exceptionally good...and no slime...baked or grilled on the bar-b-q, no coating.

74 outside this AM. Mid 90's today. The weather is suppose to get cooler, maybe by Sunday with t-Storm chances. We need the rain. Heading out back in a few to bushhog a pasture. Doing that before it gets unbearable again.

Buppies, stay positive.

RS, wow...heal fast.

Have a great w/e all. Be safe, stay cool.

Good morning! 76˚ before sunrise and we have already had 18 days of 100˚ weather this year and we are waiting for that first cool front to knock the temps back to the 60s in the morning - ahhh. Hurry up October. Another week before we start to turn the cow field into a picnic ground for 1200 for the VFD.
Not much planed for today except to make a couple of dozen tamales.

Stopped and looked at some string trimmers yesterday...had an interest in learning about the rechargeable battery ones. Thought it would be handy to use for frequent light trimming. I broke my gas Stihl running the 3 point knife blade the other day...I think it is just the cable from the trigger...the engine runs fine, but no tension on the trigger or acceleration. I'll try to diagnose today.

The place I stopped had Echo brand, with which I am not familiar. They had one 36 volt unit, checked out pretty good. The salesman tells me (off the record) that Echo makes a 58 volt unit, but only Home Depot sells it. It has a split shaft, like the Stihl Kombi. He said he is gonna get the 58 volt at Home Depot, use the top half, and then use the bottom half various implements from the gas powered line that he sells.

I may look into it. Anyone have a battery Echo trimmer?
