How many of you guys wish you did not purchase a cabbed tractor?

Zero regrets.

Hot out? Cab with AC
Cold out? Cab with heat

No bugs, no wasps, etc.

Unless you spend a lot of time in thick woods, a cab is a no brainer to me

So I am pretty sure I want a cabbed tractor but pretty sure does not pay for it. I have to figure out that part now.

I put a down pmt. on mine and then paid for it with an equity loan. I have a line of credit and I can deduct it from my taxes as part of my mortgage.

I can do that or I can do a loan tractor alone for my business. I can put it in my inventory also. Many ways to do it. Problem is it is still 17200 plus my tractor.

My wife insisted that I get a CAB. Man was she ever right that was the thing to do. I also am in the woods a lot and I just watch for limbs etc. and dodge them! I will never have another open platform tractor! That tractor is a JD 6420.

I'm envious of you guys with cabs, but for me watching for and dodging limbs would result in 1) the work not getting done or 2) broken windows etc. So not an option for me.

As for loans mentioned by screamin400, I got my Kubota with a 3 year 0% interest loan. That was 12 years ago so not sure those kinds of deals still come up or not.

Mahindra has all kinds of financing. Something like 0% forever but the price of the tractor goes up 5k. Usually whenever I get offered something for free there is always a catch :)

Kubota is currently doing 0% financing out to 84 months I believe

I looked at that when I bought my Kubota 3 years ago, but when you get a loan from Kubota they insist and add insurance. If you use Kubota Credit they will not loan the money without it, hence the equity loan.

After I was attacked by a swarm of bees that chased me for a hundred feet with the tractor at full speed, the next day I traded for a full cab with heat and air. Furthermore out where I live people get dust pneumonia Dust pneumonia facts | General center | SteadyHealth.comfrom all the dust kicked up while on the tractor. Then with the cab tractor and wind screen a branch flew at the cab and broke the windshield. Had the glass not been there I wouldn't be typing this right now.
Granted you can save money with no cab, but your health isn't worth playing with for what you save.

Got my first cab two years ago about today even. I really enjoy it. But I am using open station tractor (my other two have canopies, would not be without them) to mow new coastal bermuda. Why, to keep hours off the cab tractor and also do not need the size of the cab tractor. Would I have rather used the cab in 95 degree heat with heat index as high as 114, yes but has been said under canopy it is not that bad. That being said I am glad I have a cab tractor and while I live in the South have enjoyed it while working ground after dark in the winter, have enjoyed it when winter wind is blowing, have enjoyed it when 95 degrees if HP is needed.

When and what I do not like and most if all have not been pointed out:
Getting in and out is not as easy.
Don't forget to close the door before moving to prevent catching and shattering it.
Forget manual control sprayer (unless you are using a hand held wand out the window and along that line knew of a person who ran the sprayer hoses into the cab and hose burst soaking him with a chemical that probably lead to his cancer and death.
Forget any liquid sprayer or dry spreader such as a whirly bird with gate or valve you manually operate.
Yes it is higher than canopy.
Yes my mirrors get moved by limbs.
I have cut some limbs around fields due to the glass to protect it.
Nervous as can be around trees if needing to watch blade or such behind me.
You must run the run the air when temp is maybe upper 70's for you are in a green house. I much rather feel the breeze.
I am not comfortable running with my doors open. Just do not trust two bolts through the glass for the hinges and the gas cylinder to keep it in place. Moving slow ok but not bouncing or on the road.
Forget the radio, still have enough noise hearing radio for does not happen.
The cab has a lot of heat radiating from the transmission. Run it for an hour with a real load and even in day light 50 degrees seldom need heat.
Not easy to hear someone calling you (not over a phone but the person) Have a friend with two large (200 something hp) Cases and his cabs are quiet enough he will talk with you while running it and you may not pickup the tractor noise.
When dusty it can be hard to keep windows clean enough to see well. Especially with a light sprinkle as it just makes mud on windows. Have had the glare issue also and it is not as easy to see as an open station for there are post for the cab. Had accident last fall and part of the reason was lost the pickup in the post. Same also makes it harder to watch some operations behind you.
Forget reaching back to help with third arm when hooking up to 3 pth. Forget an easy reach to the lift lever when on the ground hooking up 3 pth implement.

What I do like other than already stated:
My grandson is about to sit on fender flat top beside me. WORTH THE MOST OF ANYTHING
The second best thing about the cab is my oldest dtr was willing to use it to disk and other than B2710 with hydro would not sit a tractor. SECOND BEST REASON FOR A CAB.
Ability to have controls for electric boom valves and such safe. Not theft safe but rain and limb with dust. Also will allow me to add gps next year.
Out of the dust.
Was glad for it when it stop the hyd oil spray when hose fitting failed.
The cloth seat you can use because the seat is not in the rain.
The cup holder and fact the drink does not get dusty.

Would I buy another yes. Would I recommend it yes, Just realize it will prevent accessing some places and will slow you down with some jobs.
