wngsprd Got notice that the timber company that owns 150 acres behind my property wants to apply biosolids (treated sewage residuals) to the ground. Not sure about this. Anybody have any experience? I'll probably start a thread said:

Good afternoon. Just back from a visit to a garden centre that had been recommended to my wife. Took Max along with us but unfortunately they didn't want dogs there, even in the outdoor areas, so me and him had a good excuse to instead wander around a little village by the river that we otherwise wouldn't have seen.

Ron, good job you noticed the "slight bulge" before that Burmese oil python shed it's skin.

Wng, my take on composted poop :-

Cow poop - not too bad.

Chicken & turkey poop - no problem, as long as you are not downwind !

Pig poop - now that's a proper old country poop smell for me, my favourite.

Human poop -
Ok, I admit it is good for the soil, but there is something about even a faint smell of human stuff that our brains tells us we should get away from. Perhaps ask if you can accompany your wife on her next long visit to her parents, until the odour dissipates.

57 this morning and headed to 83 today.

Finish bailing hay on my place today and move to dad's hay hopefully Monday. Having trouble starting rolls but dad doesn't want to maintenance baler belts. I think they've stretched and need to be resized. But yet again I'm the kid and know nothing. Having to ride the clutch hard to not clog up.

Wng. If injected should be no worries. If sprayed on top of the soil you'll have a smell and they will have to worry about run off. People want organic food and farming practices but then get grossed out when they find out the food was fertilized with $h1t. The other option isn't organic. You said it was treated. Human waste is treated to minimize the risk to the public for viruses and other diseases. Like meningitis. Animal waste doesn't have that problem although there are still things humans can get from it. Like salmonella.

56F and mostly sunny @ 08:00, heading up to a high of 74 ... which I bet we beat. Then into the oven over the next 3 or 4 days.

Well folks, looks like we have a winner ... I skipped the Coke and drank 4 glasses of water over the course of last evening, plus a cup of warm water with the dissolvable mineral supplements before I hit the rack.

No cramps ... and the legs/ankles/feet feel good this morning ...

Hopefully this will take care of the charley horses I was getting in my abdomen as well, which have been a long standing issue. These would occur randomly, in random locations (left/right, front back, upper/lower) ... usually as a consequence of some activity (bending over/stretching to tie a shoe, etc.)

My take on bio-solids is pretty much the same as Eric's ... except I like the smell of cow poop more than pig poop. Human waste = nasty stuff. Drove past a good sized farm last week on the way to the range that had just sprayed their fields with human waste ... very stinky ...

Thomas, congrats on your anniversary ... Marriage is fine institution ... if you got to be committed to an institution, marriage is hands-down my personal choice ...

Drew, hoping everything turns out fine with the thyroid.

I think today is probably a good day to see if I can get that tank of Roundup I mixed up a while back sprayed, assuming low wind. Beyond that there's a whole bunch of stuff I've been talkin' about forever, that I haven't managed to get done that I might try and tackle today.

Hope everyone has a enjoyable and productive day.

Good Morning!!!! 59F @ 6:00AM. Considerable clouds this morning. Some decrease in clouds later in the day. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. High 76F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph.

Received only a tenth of an inch of rain yesterday, a far cry from the inch predicted earlier in the week but just fine by me. Today will be cool and cloudy, a good time to finish up some pruning with the pole saw, and then maybe some more mowing tomorrow.

Uneventful trip to town, and as expected no more work has been completed on the van. In fact, the mechanic wasn't even there, hasn't been there for the past week, and won't be returning for at least another week. The people in the shop say he just showed up one day and told them he'd be gone for two weeks on a "family vacation". I did get an email from him yesterday morning before I left letting me know this, in response to an email sent a week ago. None of it matters, as the 30 day clock started the day the certified letter was received by his employee. I reinstalled the emergency brake handle I'd repainted, but of course since the brakes have no hydraulic fluid in them, it didn't make any difference, either.

The cherry orchard the neighbors planted a couple years ago is now yielding fruit, so I think I'll swing by there this afternoon. It's a "you pick" type deal, and sounds like it'll be fun.

TGIF gang!

57°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 86° today. It's supposed to get into the 90s starting tomorrow and through next week, and the humidity is making a return on Monday. Summer is arriving here.

Looking forward to cutting out from work a little early this evening to attend my first golf lesson.

The "Check Engine" idiot light came on in my Kia Soul on Wednesday, then went out yesterday, and today it's back on again. Seems to be running fine, and I already tried resetting the gas cap. Guess I'll stop by the dealer on the way home to have them scan the code. At 97,xxx miles, I'm a bit apprehensive.

Good morning! 70 heading to 90. Got a clock that tells more than time for Father's Day for Dad. View attachment 511968

We have one of those in white, Don. The original one we bought a couple years ago had some trouble. The screen would go dead or fill with lines, and sometimes it simply wouldn't boot up at all. Sent it back and Amazon replaced it. Every so often the display seems to fade out and turn all white, which is corrected with a power cycle reboot.

We originally bought one for her Grandmother, who couldn't seem to remember what day it was towards the end. We liked it so much that we bought one for ourselves, too.

Nice sunny morning, the low was 45* going to the low 80's.
Windy in the afternoon 20-30 mph..

Neighbor got his fire wood processor going yesterday. Think I may go help him some today. Last year he was doing about two cords in just over two hours.
He told me he did over two hundred cords last year..

Hope everyone one good day
