No change is good. Mine got a little bigger purple and then my body turned red. I felt like I had the flu and it lasted for two weeks.

I think the big difference Don was my spider found out I didn't taste good. There are advantages to being the mean one......

51 outside this AM, rain is upon my humble homestead. Managed to get a cut in yesterday around the house. This time of year I can run a mower everyday of the week.

Got caught up in the db errors yesterday, a few postings went MIA, no worries.

Wish the warmer weather would just stake out a better hold on time. These fluctuations are not good for the horses, who are all stalled at the moment due to the monsoon like rains expected.

Have a great day all, be safe.

Those spider bites look like a giant version of the red ant bites we get here, venom necrotizes/kills off tissue, perhaps digesting us a bit...,
and takes weeks to fully heal. Plus they itch.
Difference is a spider can kill you...plus you have the scorpions; Texans need to be tough for sure. And wear good boots,
tough jeans and something strapped on the hip. I think some Easterners think it's just for show, but lot of dangerous wildlife in Texas.
But then we have bears and mountain lions. And why I no longer put out peanut butter treats for my birds.
thankfully the line for alligators is further South in NC, down near Wilmington. I would not want to deal with alligators.

Snakes, spiders, big cats, wolves, bear, moose, wild dogs, wild hogs, alligators and crocodiles, sharks, piranha, whales, giant squid, rabid animals of all kinds
All trying to share space with us.
I'd feel a lot happier if they had something non lethal more effective than tranquilizer darts. I'm still holding out for my sci fi
laser pistol...with a stunner of course. If you could reliably stun any animal, might save a lot of unnecessary killing of critters for self protection.
Most animals can be put somewhere else.

and I hope Harv is feeling better soon.

Drew, I hate to punch a hole in your alligator theory, but they're as far North as Camden county along the Virginia border, and plentiful around and west of the northern Outer Banks.

Cool with rain moving in, strong northeast winds, we need the rain and the nice summer like weather to follow is payment in full!

40°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 79° today. It was cool all weekend here (40s & 50s). We don't normally get such a wide temperature swing in one day like today, but I'll surely welcome the warmer weather.

Wife finally got me to go to IKEA yesterday, and we spent the better part of the afternoon there. That place is freaking huge. They even have a cafeteria-style restaurant, where we enjoyed a late lunch. We left with a truck load of unassembled furniture in boxes, and a considerably lighter wallet. So, I guess I need to try to find some time over the next week to assemble three bookcases and a new desk for her sewing room, and three bookcases with glass doors and a reading chair for the master bedroom.

Power lead for sprayer repaired, sprayer checked - pumps and develops pressure.

Wife picking up more sticks and mowing.

LLMS has the muffler for the 8hp Briggs in stock at a reasonable price.

Have to go over to neighbor's here in a little bit and see if I can pop out some old 4 x 4 fence posts for him with the loader.

Moldex 7000 or 8000 seem to be popular. If you know of any others worth looking at, that would be much appreciated.

The ones I use don't have replaceable cartridges, but cost about the same as the cartridges themselves and getting the mask renewed as well gets me new elastic and a clean place to put my nose. They come in small, medium, or large, and I guess I have a medium face, not being very meaty up there. Probably best to go to a shop and try one on, but Amazon has a very good return policy if you guess wrong.

Really thinking about buying a farm or some type of home based self employment as the miles roll by. Don't know if a one man show can be self sustainable in today's society though.
Thoughts?

One of the guests at this past weekend's wrench fest told me he'd leased his land this year to a neighbor who would be farming it for him. I asked if he had ever broken even in the previous years of doing it himself, and he said sometimes, but sometimes not. He seemed very happy that by leasing he'll get a check regardless of how the crop grows, and with a whole lot less work, too. He was also looking forward to getting rid of his tractor and implements as well, all of them being another time and money sink according to him.:2cents: By way of background, his land is outside of Reno, NV and I have no idea what crops he might have been growing.

You know it's Monday when:

Made a big batch of carrot cake muffins. Tasted good but a little different. I check the ingredient list. Left out carrots!:mur::duh:
