Drinking second cup of coffee. 49° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 74° (Indianapolis, IN) with partly cloudy skies. Mostly a good drive yesterday. Made it north of Memphis about 100 miles. Hope to make it past Indianapolis today.
Good Morning All.

Good morning! Clear skies 47˚ Ron you are going in the wrong direction - don't you want to go to cooler temperatures in the Summer?

Eric, Thanks for the cattle guard pic, it reminded me I still have one more to clean out now that my 3" trench shovel has arrived. Looks like that cattle guard is made from small railroad rails. The much older train tracks in Texas used the smaller rails also. Lenny what makes it beautiful is that the cattle guard is in 3 pieces and it would be easy to remove each piece to clean under it - good idea.

Good Morning All.

That was a good drive. Miss Glenda got to see what it's like to ride distance in the Tracker. We did a 250 mile round trip and the Tracker passed with flying colors. I'm still not sure I want to leave the Winnebago in Yuma and bring the Tracker back to Dallas this fall though for Doctor's appointments.

The spider bite is looking like a tattoo now, no change that I can see, no news is good news defined. We sure appreciated the visit. Be safe out there.

No change is good. Mine got a little bigger purple and then my body turned red. I felt like I had the flu and it lasted for two weeks.

Those spider bites look like a giant version of the red ant bites we get here, venom necrotizes/kills off tissue, perhaps digesting us a bit...,
and takes weeks to fully heal. Plus they itch.
Difference is a spider can kill you...plus you have the scorpions; Texans need to be tough for sure. And wear good boots,
tough jeans and something strapped on the hip. I think some Easterners think it's just for show, but lot of dangerous wildlife in Texas.
But then we have bears and mountain lions. And why I no longer put out peanut butter treats for my birds.
thankfully the line for alligators is further South in NC, down near Wilmington. I would not want to deal with alligators.

Snakes, spiders, big cats, wolves, bear, moose, wild dogs, wild hogs, alligators and crocodiles, sharks, piranha, whales, giant squid, rabid animals of all kinds
All trying to share space with us.
I'd feel a lot happier if they had something non lethal more effective than tranquilizer darts. I'm still holding out for my sci fi
laser pistol...with a stunner of course. If you could reliably stun any animal, might save a lot of unnecessary killing of critters for self protection.
Most animals can be put somewhere else.

and I hope Harv is feeling better soon.

47 and rainy going to 56. So cool that I fired up the woodstove yesterday. And that saves me from having to take the firewood off the side porch back to the shed for the summer.

Stopped raining yesterday long enough for the "ceiling" of the lawn to dry enough to take a couple of inches off the top. Hate running the mower on Sunday, but with more rain coming and grass growing as fast as kudzu, needed to get out there. Also had time to take Coco on a 2 mile hike and found a dead barred owl just outside the entrance to an underground borrow under one of my brushpiles...I guess a fox den, but wonder what killed the owl?

Boy, I really laughed out loud at my self while reading Eric's response to my urgent pleas to buy the 3M mask. I didn't realize that so many copies had posted. I don't own 3M shares, but maybe now I should check it out.

Roy, thanks for the tip...I did the F5 and everything seems normal, but also looks like TBN may have fixed something. Hope your retirement day isn't too far off.

My wife says a tropical storm may be coming up into NC and VA. Looks like we are facing 2 more inches of rain today and tomorrow...no grapple fun for a while.

Buppies, sounds like a great trail over the border in WV.

Rain and soggy ground forces me to do needed planning and paperwork after I get back from the gym.

Good morning all. 30 here and looking at a high of 48 with a 30% chance of showers. Wind E 15 mph.

The roof repair got done, now to re-caulk the roof cap and that job will be finished....I hope.
A trip to town to get some more garbage bags for the wet insulation today, then tomorrow haul that and the scrap tin from the roof to the dump. The return trip will find me at the hardware store getting new Roxal insulation.

I am going to try and cut a bit of a hump out of the ground beside the old platform the Jeep sits on in preparation for the platform extension and the bigger Shelter Logic garage.

radar here shows the heaviest rain going almost straight up through the center of NC, not along the coast but I still think we are going to
get a good hosing today. We could use it really; down since last Fall.
That might mean the rain is headed at Buppies and Wingsprd. Not a good day for working outside for sure.

52F and mostly sunny, going up to 70F. Looks pretty promising for the next several days - two 70F days followed by two in the low 80's ... no chance of rain until late Thursday.

This is two weekends in a row that we've had nice weather. Yard work both weekends. Starting to make a dent in all the leaves that didn't get picked up last fall ... including the ones stuck to the ground on the lawn. Sun, warm temps, and three or four days of dry weather should help that along. Now I just have to drill out the broken muffler bolt on the Briggs on the Trac Vac and replace the muffler itself and I can get them (and the grass) picked up. Did manage to get all the lawn around the house cut yesterday, wife picked up the sticks and I mowed.

Also finished building a waterproof PVC box for three toggle switches and an accessory outlet for the sprayer and got it wired in on the Kubota yesterday morning. Hopefully be doing some spraying in the next couple of days.

Zack delivered three loads of wood chips and three loads of logs this past weekend. Thankfully the logs are cut into 4' or 5' sections, so I can move them around without having to cut them first.

The Lilies of The Valley that I planted last year (or was it the year before ?) have really taken off everywhere I planted them.

Have a little more welding to do on the soil screen frame and it will be ready to go.

Will put the MMM on the Kubota today and get the front lawns done, after I move the Trac Vac up to the house to work on it.
