Good morning!!!!

49 and raining. Should only get to 61.

My wife and I sat out in the yard before dinner last night with a mug of hot tea enjoying the rare easterly wind and watching the birds head to roost and the jet contrails until we got too cold. Nice.

Got notification that my grapple had been received at the FedEx freight depot, so after taking advantage of the cool morning temps chain sawing a lot more big cedars along the fence line, I picked it up.

Having never had or used a grapple, I must say this thing is a dream come true. I cleared up so many piles of brush and old dead pine logs in just an hour or so before dinner. My old manual lifting and dragging and throwing each tree or bush up on a pile was good exercise, but I've found I get enough of that other ways and it was hard to keep up. Lots more to do once the rain stops.

Roy, good luck with your audit.

Thomas, I'm excited for you nearing retirement.

Never owned or been around a grapple but they sound very useful

Drinking first cup of coffee. 63° with partly cloudy skies. Heading to 78° (Wylie, TX) with partly sunny skies. Yesterday travel was good. But turned out to be over 500 miles. Area around Brownfield, TX. (US 380) Had a big rain storm come thru. Lots of flooded fields and roads. Most of the road had been cleared of sand/mud. Would have a big problem traveling this route a couple days ago. Only 250 miles today. Then 3 days rest.
Drew, not a good thing doing the prep. Mine is next month.
Roy, good luck with inspection.
Good Morning All.

Pics?

Good morning! 66˚ heading to 80˚ cloudy. I'm being to think that cardio stress tests are totally worthless. I passed mine with flying colors and had a heart attack (shortly after) 7 years ago, my Mom failed her miserably last week and they could find nothing to fix when she went for her heart cath yesterday. But that is good news because yesterday morning we were pretty sure we were looking at three month delay in moms hip repair surgery as they were prepared to either place a stent or prepare for a bypass but since neither was required (less than 75% blockage) she is still scheduled for her mid May hip surgery. Of course she credits her two week plant based no oil diet but I know it would take a lot longer. Hmmm, but two weeks is all Daniel prescribed in the biblical days. . . . . and I haven't needed any heart procedure and got off almost all my meds . . . .

Whipper is happy she is changing her diet, mom gave me all her eggs and lunchmeat to give to Whipper when we got home from the hospital yesterday.

55 going to low seventies, cool overcast day.
errands this morning, then stuck here all afternoon and evening enduring the miseries of GI prep.
Black coffee and jello for breakfast. Yum.................

Almost every day in the next week shows good possibility of Spring showers. The fescue I planted in the nut orchard is growing about an inch a day, the day after I mow it looks tall. No fertilizer either. Happy to report that every one of my fifty hybrid willow trees has sprouted little bright green leaves all over. Everything gets watered pretty heavily at least once a week regardless of the rains. I did most of the watering yesterday, went through 100 gallons. Another 50 gallons today and I'll be done. Battery for pump on charge overnight, that tired old tractor battery is really working hard. I think the desulphate function of the smart battery charger has given it some new life. 750cca, replaced it with a 900cca.

I've been brainstorming on how to redesign my water wagon with what I have on hand. Turning on the pump with alligator clips on a battery is lame, though effective. My intentions are to take the much more powerful 7gpm variable speed water pump I bought for my motorhome and never installed, and use that for the water wagon instead of the small 12VDC pump I have now that runs constantly and thus runs the battery down. The new pump will only run as fast as the demand, so once I let off on the nozzle trigger, the pump will fully stop. I need to get that pump, plus a waterproof on off switch, and mount all this on a piece of plywood cut to fit in the little green JD cart. This water cart has made my life so much easier already, and I'm likely to need it for a number of years. So makes sense to do it right.
Another project....job security for sure.

Good morning all;

It's 46 this morning in SLC and wet. Not raining any more but it rained steady all night. My field was getting a little dry so the rain came at a good time. :D

Ron, two words - Green Tea.
Cancer, Interrupted: Green Tea | NutritionFacts.org
Can Green Tea Help Treat Cancer? | NutritionFacts.org

It seems to work best where the green tea actually can come in contact with cancer cells like the mouth or colon.

So my wife had an appointment with a dermatologist to remove a "spot" that appeared to be an angry skin cancer legion. The dermatologist apt was in a weeks so she decided to place a patch of green tea on the spot. After 4 days the inflammation went down and when she went to the dermatologist he said there was nothing to remove. I told her next time to do the 4 day treatment before she makes the appointment and save me $70.

Good morning all! 45 here and going to a high of 54 wind SE 7 mph.

I got all my running around done yesterday except for a elevator....I may have to bite the bullet and go down to Stratford
(about 4.5 hrs one way). I will call a freight company I know of down there and see how much they will charge me to haul one up here.

I must say that a grapple sounds exciting. I bet it was a lot of fun.

59°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 86° today.

Buckeyefarmer, my Wife had her first experience this past weekend with those new cans when she tried to fill the Husqy rider. Sprayed gasoline all over the thing because the can had pressurized as it warmed. She wanted to know who thought that was a good idea. She also asked, after finding that the old style are no longer available, how we can modify the new ones to actually work. Looking at a few options there ...
