62 right now...dropping a bit for a high in the mid-50's.

For the next few days, my main chore will be prepping for an AS 9100 (aerospace) system's audit on Thursday and Friday. Our sister company in CT got hit pretty hard last week (5 minor findings and 2 majors). We expect our other sister site (also in CT) to get findings as well. I think we're in pretty good shape, but things tend to pop up. I'm the site Quality Systems lead, so I'll be held responsible to handle any findings at the site I work at (in NH)

These can be quite grueling good luck this week

Eric,
how do you get away with owning a gun over there? Or are you one of the Queens game keepers, too?

Regulations on gun ownership are tough in the UK, although if you can show good reason and have no criminal record, it is still allowed. Latest figures indicate 153,000 people in England & Wales have firearms certificates (most will be to own rifles) and 566,000 have shotgun certificates.

60 going to 76. Got a sprinkle yesterday, hoping today we'll get enough to wash off our lime green coating on everything.

Randy, Hope your mom had a great birthday!

The lilacs are so fragrant this year it almost knocks me back as a near them.

Heard one gobbler out early this morning, but behind my across-the-road neighbor's house, and he's a turkey hunter.

The phoebes are nesting under my shelter again, and now have 3 eggs in the nest. Those little telescoping mirrors come in handy. The wrens nested in my wife's kayak, but should be near fledging.

A wet start to the day here. Me and Max are drying out, with essence of wet dog wafting through the house, while watching grandson play with his leggo.

My wife saw the first swallow yesterday. There is a saying about this annual migration that "One swallow does not a summer make". Not sure if that translates to other countries too - how many migrating Ron's does it take to constitute a summer in USA ? :)

MFW, your bride certainly deserves the quad present, partially for her skills in getting your mower to run, but mostly for getting your life going again.

Wngsprd, I take it Phoebe is a feathered bird, must look that one up. Never met a human Phoebe, the name always makes me think of Catcher in the Rye.

67 outside this AM, with a passing shower on tap. Recovering from the Easter road trips. Going down I-95 South yesterday gave me insight not to take it North on the way home. Lots of people doing road trips! So from Richmond we took Route 1 North. I recall those rides from my younger years, LOL.

Had a great time dropping the girls off and hitting a favorite sushi restaurant while we were down there.

Today is check day for the US government. Argh, welcome to Monday. LOL

Have a great day all. be safe.

Every time I see "swallow" I think of Monty Python and the African/European script they got into.

Here, when the Barn Swallows show up, it's definitely summer time! And they showed up a few days ago.

Good Morning! 51F @ 4:30AM. Steady light rain this morning. Showers continuing this afternoon. High 56F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 80%.

Smart lady MFW. She sounds like a keeper!

Got another half inch of rain yesterday, starting about noon and continuing on and off for the rest of the day. Got most of the weeding done and had to dodge the showers to get the old plastic bender board pile moved out of the way. What a lot of work that was to install, only to watch as the plastic flexed up and down and sideways, wrigging its way up and out of the ground. Time and money not well spent. Spring cleaning saw most of the refrigerator cleaned out, along with the wood stove and damp mopping the kitchen. Laundry, too. Still more today, good thing to take care of while it's raining out.

Last year I had swallows trying to build nests under the eves on the front porch. Thought about letting them go ahead, but just getting started left a mess on the wall and floor, so a garden hose made life difficult enough for them that they moved on to greener pastures. Hopefully don't have to fight that battle again this year.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start...

Yes, phoebes are fly catching birds...fun to watch their aeronautic acrobatics.

Riptides, the tree swallows arrived here just last week. I know what you mean about I-95...I always use US 1 heading down to Ashland or up to Fredericksburg.

Much the same as it is here, then. We don't have to show reason BUT if there is anyone in your house that is certified nuts, then forget it.
