Simple SDLA hack

I was having trouble using the SDLA handle. My hand would have to bend uncomfortably and also found some tarnish developing on the chrome where my fingers were drooping over the black factory knob.

After a flashback to my youth where the eight ball shift replacement knob was all the rage, I came up with this idea.

I unscrewed the factory black knob.

Silver brazed a SS washer and nut to a short piece of mild steel tube. Then hollowed out a lathed piece of poplar.

A small screw into a hole drilled into the washer holds the wood on.

Screwed the new replacement onto the SDLA threads.

BTW Flitz took off the tarnish from the SDLA chrome.



Both my wife and I mowed with it and it is more comfortable.

One is for raise/lower three point hitch and other two are for two sets aux hydraulic connectors behind the seat.

Should have screwed in a beer tap handle from your favorite beverage
