I greased all the obvious zerk fittings recently on my GC1710. Loader, backhoe, etc. I know there are some I missed, but I cannot find anything in the operating manual or service manual?

Does anyone know of a diagram or list of all possible greasing locations?

Strange - my Op manual has pics showing all the grease points. Definitely - the service manual should be showing them all. Call your local Massey dealer - he might be able to provide a picture(s) or link on the internet.

So does my Owners Manual... except that they didn't update when they removed two of them on my front axle. Drove me and my dealership bonkers trying to find'em. The manual also didn't show the two new grease nipples underneath the FWD/REV pedals, but the dealership told me about those.

Those grease nipples can be sneaky.

hahaha, missing greese zerks... go around once, go around twice min. and then still end up missing some been there done that.

from FEL to backhoe, moving them both so you can hit all the zerks
front wheels to steering multiple spots
all foot pedals most likely have a greeze zerk
your seat might have zerk or two on it.
including caster wheels for finishing mower
if you have a cab, the doors hinges might have spots.
drive shafts under neath might have geese zerks, perhaps at U joints as well
pulleys on finishing mower deck
PTO shafts connecting to any 3pt hitch equipment

if it hinges in anyway most likely there is a grease zerk to bit had.
to were any pins / bolts were stuff hinges.

if there is a plastic boot / rubber boot over something then it is more likely protected for a reason and is greased, and not needed to be greased all the time, but perhaps checked couple times a year for wear tear and if needs to be greased or not (most likely manual has given hours when to check these spots).

i am a messy greaser, i pump enough in to push old out. more so first time spring, end of fall. and when it looks like or i have used abused and got it full of dust and grim and wanting to push that stuff out and get clean grease in.

Wagtail - I think the Owners Manual is updated every 25 years, or so, whether its needed or not - ha,ha. My tractor had two more zerks than shown in the pics - at least, I hope its only two. The poor dealer could never quite find an OM that exactly fit my turbocharged model. Finally, after four years, they came out with the OM for my model - showing the turbo and the added zerks.

In the absence of an OM - I suggest checking every location where two chunks of metal are hooked together with a pin, bushing, sleeve etc. And don't forget to do a complete "crawl under" from front to rear of the tractor. Grease zerks/nipples are indeed sneaky.

With the Massey GC1700 series, there is a manual for each item.

1 for fel
1 for tractor
1 for mmm
1 for backhoe

Each one of those manuals should show their's individually.

Axle,

Any chance to provide a page number in the tractor operating manual showing specific grease locations? I recall when looking it was very vague about greasing.

Someone told me I have grease fittings in areas where I need to be very careful so I do not over-grease, such as the steering assembly. (I'm using an electric grease gun.) It's not obvious where any such grease locations are, and I can't find that one, or any directory of all grease locations in the main tractor manual.

I grease my 1705 at at least once a month depending on how much I use it when I do grease it I pull it up my car ramps so I can roll around and with a flashlight check and double check where as said any 2 or more things come together grease it if you can.

I see a post like this and I think. . . . . I pledge to get a locknlube coupler this year. . . . But that $ 29.95 price tag by mail order is a mental barrier lol. Darn I wish I could find them locally . . . I swear, there is no retailer carrying them cause I sure have looked. :)

bottom swing bushing for cb05 backhoe is one that is easily overlooked but probably carries a lot of stress. it's easy if you just put the outriggers down and lift the rear of the machine for easier access. also, one end of backhoe boom swing cylinder can only be greased with the backhoe off the machine. I don't think it's a critical load bearing point though, but something to be aware of nonetheless.
