"I worked in Mendocino County nine years. Where are you?"

Mount Shasta, Ca. A very different world than the one you live in.

What is the concern with using the pine straw rake with a 50 hp tractor?

What do you estimate your total tractor weight to be?

What tires are on your tractor, R1s or R4s?

After a heavy rain, how long does it take standing water to percolate into your soil so no puddles remain?

Estimated tractor weight 6000 lbs.
R1 tires.
Perc rates are very good. Volcanic soils with organic components. Not much standing water.

I do not mark DRY turf with my 5,400 pound tractor with R4s so long as I operate in 2-WD mode.

I would test DRY turf with your R1 tires. I speculate you will not mark dry turf in 2-WD mode. Marking will depend on how much support ground can give to the R1 bars.

Just cumbersome and heavy for this task imo. You can do it but be careful you don't mess up the lawn. I sold this rake about a month ago and will be ordering a new one from EA. My x749 works great for raking around trees and lawns. These pine straw rakes do a good job of covering seeds for lawns too, just roll afterwards. Very handy tool with a lot of uses and low cost. But not good for small leaves.

Does a very nice job on the needles. I have kept the landscape pretty natural. No lawn to mow, water, mess up with equipment, feed, thatch, aerate, etc. :)
