Good morning!!!!

26 degrees going to 48 today. Helpers came yesterday and we put the phd back on the tractor, and froze our tails off doing it, geez was that wind chill cold in 25mph winds. But at least now I can drill about fifty holes for hybrid willows today, in the nice warm tractor cab. All going along a tree line, and while the 12 inch auger is too big for these small bare root trees, it will make a nice water retention ring from the overflow and for sure will go through tree roots that I have no chance of digging through manually. I expect to hit a lot of roots today, run the phd just above idle so if I hit something big the tractor will stall and not break the pins. I've never stalled the tractor either, shows that diesels definitely put their torque out at low rpm.

Hybrid willows all average about 42 inches with nice root balls, a good thing when they advertised them as only being two to three feet tall. I'm hopeful their addition to my existing tree line will finally give me a sight barrier from Tobacco Road next door. Once the willows have formed a sight barrier, I can then clean out the tree line, get all the briars and other junky trees out, all of which were tolerated because they helped block the view. Trees are supposed to grow 8 feet in the first year. Hmmm, a hybrid willow would define GMO wouldn't it?....

Don, I guess you will have to do it with a hoe, now.

The job was completed with a grub-n-hoe and a shovel that was an inch too wide and had to be brought up through the pipes at an angle. I'm not as sore as I thought I would be, I guess the turmeric works on muscle inflammation.

I was thinking that was a lot of work too...you really do keep active there. I have some turmeric on my spice shelf, used in chili?, wonder what I can put some in.
thoughts Don?

Curry. Mustard. Soups. Potatoes. Beans.

To make the turmeric more effective always add black pepper.
I love black pepper so that part is easy.
And I love mild curry.
When you say potato, do you have to do mashed potatoes and mix it in?
Sprinkle on outside?
And beans as in soup style beans, not green beans from the garden?
I've read of this stuff elsewhere, though I need to be careful of things that might aggravate acid reflux.
With severe osteoarthritis, I'm game for trying anything sensible
other than having them keep jacking up my meds.

Drew here is a recipe that we make and when I'm going to be very active add extra turmeric AND double the recipe.

INDIAN CURRY LENTILS

1 cup mixed lentils & split peas
3 tablespoons of mild yellow curry powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric (we usually grate some turmeric root and use more)
4 cloves garlic
1 teaspoon oregano
1 cup of mixed vegetables (I use bag of frozen corn, peas, carrots, and green beans and also add kale or spinach)

We make ours in the Instant Pot set at 12 minutes and it's done. The Instant pot is a pressure cooker so we only use 4 cups of water.
(if you order a "instant pot" from the manufacture Instant Pot Company not amazon use coupon code AJ for $50 off and free shipping)

Without a Instant Pot:

Bring 5 cups of water to boil add lentils and split peas

add spices and garlic cook for 50 minutes and then add the frozen vegetables and cook an additional 5 minutes

Serve on a bed of brown rice.

Note: We like the Instant Pot because it is one of the few pressure cookers that has a stainless steel pot not a teflon lined pot.

going to get some serious seat time today and a good test for my rear camera on the Kubota. Need to drill fifty holes for fifty hybrid willows.
Nice warm cab on a cold day, all good. Need to remember to take a different CD out, the one in the cheap stereo they give you has been in
there way too long.
Maybe some Allison Krauss while I drill holes. Need to see if it has a USB input; don't think so.
I just gave the Kubota a full lube a few days ago, hooked up the air grease gun to my compressor and that makes it a lot easier for me
as we all know how many zerks there are on a FEL. And then the ones down near the front axle, the front steering knuckles, and then four zerks in
the rear. I keep greasing the FEL hoping that graunching noise will just go away but I think I might have slightly bent something a year ago whaling on a stump.
The same stump I now really need to take out totally because it's in the only entrance to the nut orchard, and i want to have that opening in the tree line look nice.
Job security, endless stuff to do here...all good, particularly since I've subbed out the lawn mowing I can now do these other projects I have been longing to do.
Just could never get to them being a one man bad.

One more day and it warms up enough to go back outside. I have to weedeat around my house, foot high weeds in spot. At least they look nice...weeds are like cockroaches,
I bet the freeze didn't hurt them.

No heart attacks in the snow guys. One guy already keeled over from this blizzard shoveling snow. No heart attacks. That's our motto. Thomas, Roy, and...
but have fun out there...ultimately we are all like little kids and want to play in the snow some time. Like Cat Fever catching air...

Drinking first cup of coffee. 66° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 92° with partly cloudy skies. Trip to west side of Phoenix took longer than planned. Cement truck turned over causing freeway to be closed. Then finding home of relative was a mess. Del Webb designed community. Road go in circles. Beyond the road. We had a good visit with wife's cousin. Taking dog to groomer today.
Don, a lot less work if cattle is cleaned annually. Another item to add to your todo list. 🤠
Drew, local news this morning. Was talking about cold in DC and cherry trees. They stated that temperatures had to be below 24° to kill blossom. But what do they know when it's going to be in the 90's for the next 5 days.
Good Morning All.

Drew also on "active" days I add 1/4 cup sesame seeds to my morning bowl of oats and fruit I used to use Quaker old fashion oats, now I am using the Instant Pot for 10 minutes to make Oat Groats - keeps me fuller longer and is less processed.

My wife tells me she notices I complain a lot less about pain and don't move like an old man  when eating these inflammation fighting foods.
