Mark at Everlast

Mark I got your PM. Still trying to decide stick or Mig for the upgrade. Am leaning towards stick though. Glad you made it through the virus. As for the 4yr old, good luck!

Well, I had two round of virus or food poisoning. One lasted 36 hours of stomach pain, the "D", fever, chills, and nausea. By the end of the next week I got what I think was food poisoning and it was a week of nothing but stomach misery. I could function but had to stay close to a restroom and a pack of gatorade.

As for the daughter, we've just started T-Ball.

I hate to break it to you Mark but your condition will not get any better... other than the kid part! :D

I've got a wonderful little girl. Teachers are dumbfounded by the things she says and does. But she is bored at school already. She is sweet and kind and thinks of others. But she is strong headed, assertive and independent too with an activity level through the roof. And she gets in trouble about two to three times a week at school for talking.

She's not getting in trouble she's building memories. I had 3 of those. Wait til she's 14.....

Well, I am direct. I am in Georgia, but whether you are talking to someone in San Fran or Georgia, we are all part of the same company. Plus, I've been working for the company since 2009...many of those guys over there haven't...and most of them never have struck an arc.
Nasty nasty Mark :) Be kind to your coworkers.

Well if you've just started T-Ball we will hope to hear from you occasionally. T-Ball, soccer, theatre can suck up a lot of time.

My daughter was that way, but we quickly taught her how to talk less in school (and hold the questions for home). She gets her Doctorate in Communications from Cornell in May and has already started work at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in downtown DC. about 1 mile from where her mother worked (and retired from in 2011).
So it reads like you've got a lot to look forward to.

When my 3 girls put paper bags over their heads so they could be "triplets", I got a bit concerned. One ended up being a microbiologist, the second heads up the special ed dept. at a private school and the third became a graphic artist. She makes bags for her own two with funny faces on them.

T ball was fun. I was well into my 40's when my boys started T ball. Time sure flies. Almost 5 and in trouble for talking in school??? Good Grief. Let her rip (talk all she wants) She'll learn on her own or NOT when she should be quite. Being afraid to talk is something to be concerned about.

I have to say I hated T ball. Did coach it up thru little league majors. When it came time to coach the teenagers, I stuck to soccer and basketball which I played through high school. Kids these days are way more advanced in the learning of the game than we were growing up. I spent a lot of time involved in both my son's and daughter's sports activities. A whole lot of fun but looking back, I think at times it was too intense. Parents cared more than the kids. That's not they way it is supposed to be in my opinion.

Mark, have fun with your daughter growing up... it goes fast and when she is gone, you really start to wonder where the time went!

I was a good fifteen years older than the other parents of our T ball team. IIRC the kids of the really serious parents were the ones sitting on the ground drawing pictures in the dirt. Others were really aware of what was going on. Some of the parents would get upset about the most amazing things. I enjoyed watching the parents almost as much as the kids.

I think I may be 20 years older than some of them. My daughter gets bored and stands out in the middle of the outfield dancing to her own tune. All the other kids are just standing there. She is spinning around like a ballerina as the ball rolls by.

Yep that's the T ball I remember... and the kids running to third base first and then a couple others start chasing just because.
