-10 and going to a high of 9. Sunny and winds are NW 5 mph. Another good day for the bugs. They were starting to hatch out two weeks ago. This cold will have killed them off.

Need to pour second cup of coffee. 62° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 89° with mostly sunny skies. Great day at antique tractor show yesterday. Ford car club was there also. Liked old police wagon.

Not much planed today. NASCAR on the patio until it gets to hot outside. Then inside with A/C on.
Good Morning All.

Well, good thing I'm in Texas and Dear Wife is home in Oklahoma.
I was home last weekend and took the boat out. Story short version...
She found the trailer hitch ball I forgot to remove with her kneecap (she's short & truck's tall) on the back of the pickup.
Whew! I thought the phone was going to melt!!!

Tell her that learning about trailer hitches is painful, but it only takes one or two lessons to retain the knowledge!

Good Morning! 54F @ 7:45AM. Plenty of sunshine. High 71F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Larry Cosgrove thinks we'll stay warm and dry for most of the month out here; that'll be a nice change and good for the repairs going on down at the dam. Hope the landscaping doesn't try out too quickly though, the wildflowers haven't even begun to bloom. Not looking good this week for the east, though, with possible heavy snow on the way. Stay warm'n'safe if yer back there folks!

Very nice day yesterday, with another one just like it on tap for today. Got the bushes in the front trimmed up; love that Stihl gas hedge trimmer! Spent more time picking up than I did cutting, and running the two dump beds full of trimmings to the compost heap was a nice rest for the ol' back.

Speaking of old, got a nibble on the old K-bike yesterday, hope to get a follow up phone call on it today. Also heard from the attorney that handled my mon's estate, who then emailed me a copy of the final tax return showing the home's value at the time of her death. Don't know why I never got a copy to begin with, but at least now I can do the taxes for this year. Not gonna like writing that check, but I should be happy that the place showed some appreciation since '03 when so many in that area did not!:grumpy:

Cabela's has the SPOT Tracker device on sale for half price at $49, and at $99/year for the service, it's the least expensive "LoJack" type service I've been able to find. Lots of other stuff on sale, too, so I snagged a big picnic cooler as well.

Storm passing south today, snowing on Drew. A blizzard passing north of us this week giving us needed rain, thankfully no snow. But it's way too cold!

Don't know all the details of your mothers estate, but I would check with a CPA to determine if you get a "stepped up basis" which means that you inherited the home for the value at the time of her death, not at the time she bought, thus no tax on any gain?
