Is there a reset that anybody knows of? The light came on the dash, I removed the plug on bottom of water separator, turned the opening drain, drained all "water", (I think just diesel came out) put back together, and light on dash will not go off. 2555HST

Same problem here on my 5555. Other members have suggested several ideas.

Use a scan tool to clear the fault code. The OBDII connector is above the fuse box. My inexpensive scan tool is giving me an error and will not clear it.

Pull any fuse and plug it into the reset slot in the fuse block. I cannot find one on mine.

Good luck. I'm still looking for a solution, too.

Thanks Mac. I'll look for a reset slot.

The sensor itself could be bad as well or the fuel... if you havnt had your data reset yet you need to do so. The easy way to tell is if you don't get a 30ish second glow time before and after crank you need the data set

I topped off the fuel and ran it for about an hour today. Sometime during that one hour the dash light went off. Guess it self corrected. Thanks for everyone's support.

How do you do that?

Take it to your dealer there is a campaign on it. 5555 has one for sure

Thanks, Navasot.
Transporting it to the dealer is a problem
as I do not have a suitable trailer.
In the meantime, can I continue to use it without the reset?
It starts and runs great.

Take it to the dealer to reset...... I would expect its a whole lot cheaper to have the dealer come out and perform the task on-site. Like Mad Mac - I don't have a transport trailer and round trip costs $350.

Could just depends on how far the dealer is... 100 miles round trip would be about $350 for most dealers I know.. the job once at the site is paid for through the campaign but not the mileage. so all boils down to how far out you are from the dealer.. what made yall want to buy a tractor and not plan to have a suitable transport trailer to move it with? I understand budget and not bashing but it seems like a necessity when owing a tractor imo.

It seems to me you'd be better off with a simple OBDII scanner. Handy to have it for your cars and trucks anyway. Since everything is puter controlled these days it seems silly not to have one or two of em layin around.

What happens if you unhook the battery for 24 hours?

Your not getting what im putting down lol... the data set is done by a tool that dealers are issued... they are THE only tool that can do the dataset.. this completely erases how your tractor thinks and uploads updated software to the tractor... the scanner will only tell you whats going on it cant actually change anything... I would highly recommend contacting your dealer to check your model and see if you have a campaign for an update.. anyone who has a 4550 that feels like its loosing power... this will fix it.... 2500 series tossing random codes... MIL codes popping up .. egr problems... etc... but hey what do I know lol

you may skip a code that has been thrown but it will come back if it was an actual issue.. it will however show up in the archive if ever hooked up

I scanner can and will read and reset check engine lights and stored fault codes. I wasn't suggesting he reflash the ECU.

The codes will be listed in a back file though for viewing purposes.

Well the water in fuel light came back on when loading tractor last night. Just dropped it off at dealer to reset that as well as hydro leaking out of weep hole. 150 hours on tractor.
