2015 Silverado Duramax?

I've heard the same about the 16's, but the OP asked about a 2015 model and they do not have the digital steering.

2011 3500HD here. I've had some issues with sensors on DEF system, the tank replaced and a set of thermostats replaced in about 60k. Nothing to put me walking though. As for towing, it's very strong - easy to be overloaded and not know it what with the power and braking ability. I can't speak for bells and whistles - mine is a w/t model, but has far better seating than this type truck once had.

I have a 2014, and love it. It's the Denali, so pretty comparable to the High Country.

As far as I know, the LMLs are pretty dang good. Of course, there is the emissions "bull", but there isn't any avoiding that. I think much (most?) of the negative talk about it is just hype. Also, so many people being super paranoid about DEF and the like. Sure, problems happen, but it seems way over-stated on the forums. Injectors are good, AFAIK (LB7s use them frequently). Lots of talk about the fuel pumps (CP4) and replacing them with old ones (CP3) or putting a lift pump (pump in the tank to push fuel to the main fuel pump). But I also read that the 2014s and newer have the "improved" CP4, which fixed it.

Towing just can't be beat. Did 5,000 miles with a 5,000lb (wet) TT. It was truly *effortless*.

The hitch adapter is GM 15923277. I got one on amazon. Make sure to get one, as mentioned.

Got sandbagged on the first truck, a 2500 gas Denali. Called right before I left work, when I got there it was long gone. The goof never checked to see if it was even there before I drove an hour to set the deal..The high country: Been sitting at another location for months. They are buried in it I guess. Mgr asked if I'd buy at 4k below original ask. I said most likely. Said he would call me back. He never did. I eventually called and he basically denied ever making the offer. Bought well into the six figures from this dealer over the years..Done with them now. Their loss, not mine.

Ended up buying a 2016 1500 SLT Z71 All Terrain. Almost 13k off sticker. Not a fan yet of the blackout look thats hot today but the price was right.

I work at a Chevy dealership and we sell a ton of 1500's. You're right about choosing a good dealer - truck or tractor, same can be said.

Your 1500 looks good. I've been eyeing a Colorado myself as I have a 07 Silverado 1500 and it's always seemed too big for me and my needs. Good truck though.

As for DEF issues, yeah I've heard about a few on the DEF sensors. My advice on buying a diesel though is to make sure your dealer has a couple good diesel mechanics. Our dealership has an excellent mechanic, but only one. It's a good thing the guy doesn't take vacations - heh.
