Here's one from just around the block from work on my way this morning. The kids are getting pretty wild these days about putting spoilers on their cars.

Oh man, this needs to be in the pallet thread too...

There doesn't seem to be a driveshaft visible between the tire and fender but there looks to be something visible between the rear tires, I think. It doesn't make sense that someone would go through all that effort to do that build and then only rely on FWD only for traction. Plus, the rear wheels look spaced different and wider than you would expect on that trailer so maybe there is a rear end in there? It doesn't seem logical to build only on FWD.
It's probably a 10k trailer that is wide enough for that truck to go on.
On the rear axles, I doubt that they are powered. Not enough ground clearance and no driveshaft visible in the second picture.

Groan. Those pallets just keep popping up everywhere. Just when I get away from that thread...they keep pullin' me back in. I feel like Michael Corleone.

I wondered how long it would take for someone to mention the pallet thread after I posted the picture. Picture is posted there now. :cool2:

I sold my 08 Titan to a cop. I ran into him before Christmas and ask him how he was getting along with it.

He went on to tell me how his wife wanted River Rock for a landscaping project. He looked in the manual and its payload was about 1800#. In his head he thought ok, about 2 tons. Yes, he screwed up the math with a brain fart. Anyway a buddy was helping him shovel it off and said man, this is a bunch of rock!

It was then he realized that he had it loaded with 4,000# of rock and not 2,000 as he had planned.

He said the truck was not squatted that bad, the tires looked fine, and it drove, handled, stopped, and steered just fine.

I asked him if he wrote himself a ticket.....
I did the same thing as your buddy. Went and got 1 yd of cr610 in a 5x8 trailer without thinking. Got home and saw the tires sagging. Then thought "oh sh*t I just put 3000lbs of gravel in a 500lb trailer that says 1500lb on the axle". I said never again and bought a bigger trailer.

I think he means the mechanic will check over up to 3 potential purchase vehicles for a single $110.

Yes. I think it is his way encouraging his regulars to buy good used cars and not support the scammer used car dealers.

The last one I took to him that he rejected had the computer reset 4 times under 10 miles by the used car dealer after its oxygen sensors had been replaced. (he figured that out by reading the computer history in the vehicle). I asked why they would rest the computer. He said so they could hide that it needs new catalytic converters. That and a list of other problems it had caused me to return it and say "no thanks". My next one was dealer maintained, checked out clean and has been trouble free.

There was a CL ad last year for one of their little trailers. The seller said it was 5000lbs capacity and photographed the stamping on the coupler for proof.

My neighbor loaded dirt onto one of those little 4x6 atv trailers with his tractor, and blew both tires. Just based on the size of the pile (~ 1 yard or so), I am guessing it was a good 1.2-1.5 tons. He had figured he ran over something since it was a construction site, but it had to be weight.

I've seen similar trailers with the tires blown at the local garden center that sells mulch, dirt, and stone. Too many owners are ignorant about the capacity of those trailers, and I guess the loader guy doesn't care. The stone yard near me is a little more strict, and won't load onto anything that looks sketchy -- I bet they learned the hard way that busted down trailers will put a dent into productivity if the scale gets blocked. They also require trailers have a rear gate of some sort. That is a pain for me, as most times I don't want the large mesh gate on my 7x16 trailer when I am getting bulk materials, so I plan to build a smaller wood gate at some point.

I built a 3.5'x5' trailer with 3' sides to pull around on our property a while back. It has a 3500# axle under it and I wouldn't want anything lighter under it.

Don't remember if I've posted this picture already in this thread. Harbor Freight 40" x 48" micro-trailer rated 1k lbs total (axle rating, also the sum of 8" tires capacity). Its a perfect match for the IBC Tote that filled to the top is 2,600 lbs then another 125 lbs for the trailer itself.

I bought the trailer used, abandoned in weeds, and assumed the old 8" tires would burst immediately but I ran them two years like this until I found used 12" tires/wheels (shown here) which roll instead of plow over this soft ground.

I would never take this on the road but I've had no problems with this overload.

I got a military trailer via online auction a few years ago. One of these. That thing is a beast. I have less than $500 in it, including tags and tax, and I have had more than two tons on the thing. It didn't flinch. It came with brand new Michelin truck tires on it, too. Worth more than what I paid for the trailer!

I hope he wasn't borrowing that car from someone :D. "here's your car back"
:D :D :D

Or maybe he found it at the dump. To use for a brick trailer. He loads it then pulls it to his jobsites with a rope. Life is hard when you're that poor. :(

That would make it a Ford Found On Rubbish Dump. (alternative Found On Road Dead)

(pulls head in quickly, runs away and hides)
