Nice woods stash.

How do your chains ride, primarily the fronts with out the studs?

There has been a learning curve with the fronts. Lot's of adjusting and readjusting. I think I have them about where they need to be now, and also some spring chain adjusters I may add. But they ride well and make a world of difference on the ice.

I like the pole barn set up. I need to do the same this summer. What are the details of structure?

A buddy of mine built it. It is 40'x20' with sono-tubes under each of the uprights. Don't have any plans with any other details.

I liked your video Bullet. I got a picture of a man enjoying his equipment while he worked up some wood. Relaxed and none glorious like it should be

It's always neat looking at how people cut firewood. I really appreciate the folks who have "streamlined" the process touching the wood the least times possible and using the machine for lifting as much as possible.

I'd like to have a set for the rear o my tractor. I currently have 4 link spacing on the rear and net style on the front.

Thanks Gordon. I do enjoy getting to run the tractor, chainsaws, and splitter. I don't think I'd want to cut firewood everyday but a little now and then is fun.

My helper came over today, and after taking care of several "other" jobs I needed to get done, we cut this load of "mostly" oak,

I'm working my way to a HUGE blown over red oak, and we will be to it S :) :) N! lol

I am jealous. You have no snow and -10 degree Celsius cold to contend with. I make a few bucks blowing snow but I want to be in the woods. At the first of the winter I was cutting about 3/4 of a km (1/2 mile) up the logging road and that is a long ways to blow especially when we were getting 2 storms a week. The forecast is clear for the next two weeks so today there I will try to ride the crust with my ATV and hope I don't break through. With the recent ice storm many trees are bent over and broke so I am going to see what is involved in blowing my way into the wood lot. I also want to set up my stove etc for maple syrup season and want to be able to scoot right in everyday. The joys of living in east coast Canada. My ageing mother in law needs us with her so there is no heading south or heading to work in the woods in B.C. Guess I should be thankful that I am healthy enough to adventure into the wood by myself even if my activity is restricted by the snow. Your pictures got me dreaming for the end of April which is when we usually we have mostly bare ground.

So enjoy your bare ground and take care.

I Think we all do. We can't seem to get enough of it. Watching it here gets me motivated enough to brave the cold and go cut some wood.

It's a labour of love. My father worked in the woods until he was 85 years old. He said if there was to much snow to get in the woods he was not a happy camper. He claimed it was the best job in the world and it keeps you healthy and strong. After working in a high pressure job in an office for 35 years I finally believe him.
Well by my measurements it scaled 640 Board Feet. I am usually pretty close. The mill pays $300/MBF (per thousand BF) for spruce/fir saw logs so if there are no culls or down grades to pallet wood in the load I should get $192. Don't ask how much I make an hour - I would have to lie to stay out of jail. :D It is less than minimum wage.
