In my later years I've reverted to smaller projects but they can also be fun. The jig to cut the spool notches ( which need to be a perfect book match ) was nearly as much fun as making tape dispensers. Learned that notch thing on the first one and told self, self let's think about this for a minute. Made several dispensers over the years as gifts and they need to weigh at least 13 oz with no skid shoes.

Post away guys . I love seeing other peoples projects . Most times it's stuff I have never tried or attempted . Woodworking is always a learning experience for me . Trust me , if you guys could see some of the many mistakes I have made over the years you would be on the floor laughing big time . Someone's tag line on TBN is " if you are not making any mistakes , you are not getting any work done " . So true .

I am not really sure . I would say it is all through most of the older churches I have worked in for sure . The newer buildings are drifting away from this . If you outfitted a new church completely with that type of ornate woodwork the cost would be a crazy amount !
