LS tractor bucket flop problem

Yep, sounds like no regen and thats just how it is gonna act. Only way to stop it is to stop gravity from pulling down on the bucket faster than it can fill with fluid. Like I mentioned putting it on the ground then dumping/raising to control the speed at which it dumps.

Right, the loader diagram doesnt show a fast dump. And slowly pressing right on the stick to all way is s short even travel.

Just to be clear I have no issue with the loader control. Its a small tractor and they all have their personalitys.

To backdrag after dumping I just leave the bucket down and drop it into float and adjust from there.

I have a slight issue with this but after 2 years I have learned to operate the loader dump function different than any other tractor I've owned or driven before. I may install the flow restrictor another member did. He claims it has almost eliminated the flop problem.

Yeah that's how I deal with it also, just drop the bucket to the ground then apply curl pressure.

I made a video of the bucket flop but the forum video section size limit is 100 meg. It figures, my video is 114 meg so I can't upload it. I've been searching and downloaded several programs for a way to edit my vid smaller but no luck so far. I'll try to make a shorter video another day.

Float should be for the boom not the bucket, back dragging works a lot better that way.

Agree now that you mentioned it. So today I checked my 2400. No slop in bucket, boom is in the float valve as you said. So I checked my 6530 and it functions identically. Buckets are tight enough to bang them against the down stop and clean debris out of the bucket.

Installing the flow control valve like MOJOe11 did solved the flop problem.

Thanks for those of you that worked out this fix. I also installed the valve. Worked well. But here's a twist: When I run my QA snow blade on the loader, I dial the flow on the valve back out which effectively gives my blade "float" (previously called bucket flop) without putting the entire loader into float, thereby not putting the full weight of the loader on the cutting edge of the blade. Sweet, since my blade doesn't have built in float. Still trying to get use to not having a quick-dump loader function in the loader valve. SLOW.

Yes, I miss not having quick dump mode my previous tractors had. I never gave it a thought when I bought the LS that it didn't have it. It's a pain moving and dumping snow without quick dump but I'm not going to buy a new loader valve just to get it.

I see where you guys are going with adding restriction to the line or changing out the valve but the insufficient flow rate seems to be the root of the problem. I ended up installing a higher output pump. I was mainly interested in having better cycle times on the loader but was happy to find that it almost completely eliminated my bucket flop. The pump was a little on the spendy side but I'm very satisfied with the results. Bought it from deplorablediesel.com(only place I could find that sells them) looks like they currently only offer them for the XR3100 and XR4100 series tractors. Maybe reach out to them and see if they have plans to offer pumps for any of the other models.
